Since we know that MAD posters, and in this case, Dan Peterson, reads MDB, there's no reason why Dart doesn't post his replies here. Being blocked from MAD doesn't stop the conversation; it just moves half of it to another place.

Well, at least one of them has the decency to show up here and respond. Kudos to David for that, though I have no idea why he went to the trouble of getting Kevin banned again. I honestly don't understand why polite and civil discussion is not acceptable if it comes from certain people.

Because polite and civil discussion is not the focus of MAD. Providing a forum for faithful apologetics is the focus of MAD. Polite and civil discussion is the focus here on MDB, but certainly not on MAD.

I've changed servers, so I've been contemplating registering again. But I refrain, because for the most part, avoiding the witches from Macbeth (Nighthawke, Juliann, and Charity) makes life so much more enjoyable.

I keep telling myself I'm going to stop peeking in on them, but I can't help it. It's like a bad car crash: it's gruesome, but you can't look away. But I agree: I can't post over there anymore because it's just not conducive to kindness and civil behavior. But then, according to Scott Lloyd, the "bile" is all our fault. Go figure.

No comment other than to say what I've said before: I honestly don't think charity is intentionally offensive and mean. I have received more than a few scolding PMs and emails from her chastising me for being rude and offensive. For example, once she said that Joseph Smith never got any gain or benefit from his leadership of the church. I responded that he most certainly did. When she demanded I back up such an outrageous claim, I said as politely as I could that he had received money and material goods, undeniable power, and sexual relations with a number of women. That really set her off. I thought it was funny because she's so consistently nasty to critics, ascribing evil motivations, reveling in their future suffering in hell, etc. But say something obvious about "the prophet," and you're pond scum.

I agree.

Charity is actually a very nice person. I have had several email conversations with her. Sometimes, she is honestly unaware of how abrupt she sounds at times. I don't fault her for that. We all do that on occasion.

Juliann is actually the only one of the three mentioned who is deliberately calculating when it comes to insults.

Unfortunately, I completely agree. I will say that when I was in a deep crisis, Juliann was kind to me. I have to own up to having lost my temper a few times over there, but I honestly tried to be kind and polite. It really takes a lot to set me off, but I did lose it more than once.

What about Nghthawke (why on earth does she always leave off the "i" in "Nighthawke" when she registers on message boards)? She's rude as hell. You don't think she's "deliberately calculating" with her ubiquitous insults?
"Finally, for your rather strange idea that miracles are somehow linked to the amount of gay sexual gratification that is taking place would require that primitive Christianity was launched by gay sex, would it not?"

You know what's weird? I was on that board almost 4 years, and I don't remember a single interaction with Nighthawke. So I wouldn't know how rude she is.

When I dealt with her from a debate standpoint, she always had solid documentation to back up her claims.

Normally, with Nighthawke, if I engaged with her civilly, she would respond in kind.

There were a couple of times when I felt like she and Pahoran were both throwing around superfluous insults when they didn't need to be and attempted to address this with them when I was a Mod. Juliann immediately swooped in on me, and my comments to them were deleted.

I suppose my point about Nighthhawke is that I didn't witness an overt pattern with her. However, I really haven't been keeping that close of a track with MAD over the past few months, so I may just not be aware of her tactics.
