I have quite a few outfits that make me feel like a new woman but I do not have those platforms! And I thought my extremely high-heeled shiny black Mary Jane's were stripper shoes...

Maybe so, GIMR! But I think you got most of the skin pigment, leaving me pale. Also, you got more than your share of the height. If I wore those platform shoes, I'd be all of 5'6"!
Like you, I know I wasn't born to be submissive. I like to ride horses, so I'll use a horse analogy.
As a Mormon, I always felt like a wild horse straining at the bit. My true personality isn't that of a broken, sway-back brood mare. I was taught to be a servile - trained in the art of Godly, womanly submission. And in spite of my wild, untamed, dominant, every-thing-but-shrinking-violet inner self, I managed to submit to the bit of Mormonism and become broken for the Lord. I was the best Mormon I could be.
Letting go of the bit and throwing my rider has been scary in many ways, but the freedom I've found has been more than worth it. I know many exmormon women feel the same way. I'm so glad you found your way out of Mormonism, GIMR.

Hey...no fair! I thought I was your twin separated at birth! :(
Oh yeah...there are a bunch of us....I think we're up to octuplets now with Kimberly Ann.
Let's see.....Liz, Truth Dancer, Harmony, GIMR, Kimberly Ann, Jersey Girl, Beastie, Blixa....who am I leaving out?
We all have an inner bitch....and the men that are worth their salt wouldn't have us any other way! ;)
I seriously can relate to what you are saying Kimberly Ann. While growing up, I always tried to "turn the other cheek" as well.
I still think it is important to respect each other and be polite. However, I refuse to be a doormat.
It sounds like you have managed to strike a healthy balance. Congrats! :)

Octuplets...conjoined...
That must have been hell to push out. And I have the biggest head no doubt.
So who do you think is oldest, Liz? How do you determine in such a case?
LOL Kimberly, I didn't get much more pigment than you. :D I called my older brother yesterday afternoon to see if he could help me pay for the second half of my Miami trip (since I'm not allowed back to work yet). He joked that I wanted to go to f Florida and "come back as a black person" on his money. Crackhead. Luckily he's financing me. I love older brothers...
I'm 5"8 now, Mok's heels would surely have me knocking my head on stuff. Older brother has to duck to get throug doorways.

Each one has to find his peace from within. And peace to be real must be unaffected by outside circumstances. -Ghandi
