I bring absolutely nothing helpful to the table. Confusion and questions. That's about it.

With the exception of personal experience with Mormonism, I think never-mo's can bring what anyone else can potentially bring...

I agree with Nightingale's comments about perspective. Non-members have an opportunity to view Church members from a different angle.

Jersey Girl, you have probably been asked this before, but how did you become interested in the study of Mormonism? What brings you to boards like this? Do you have family and/or friends who are Mormon, or is your interest purely scholarly?

Actually you brign a very interesting perspective. You shared that members of your family have joined, and now your investigating. that's a very interesting point of perspective.

OMG, that is funny.

She owns some "investigating"?

Besides that, turn off the baptismal font faucet and drain it. I seriously doubt she will walk through the Hinck turnstile in the font.

Big difference between forever-never-mos like you Jgirl and others like Bond and Barrel-o-monkeys is they will NOT be on ANY Mormon discussion site after six, seven, TEN YEARS.

And if they are here that long, I bet they will be far more familiar with Mormonism and the history than you are today.

Hi PP,

You probably know me from the RFM site. I often post about Spalding-Rigdon stuff, and I have posted an on-line essay about Rigdon's role in the authorship of the Book of Mormon.

I don't know why you're disparaging Jersey Girl here. I've interacted with her on Mormon discussion boards for about 8 years or so. I have also communicated with her through email. She is a person with a long-term interest in Mormonism, and in my view, she is as knowledgeable about Mormonism as anyone I've ever met who was never Mormon.

PP, nothing's wrong with a never-mo having a long-term interest in Mormonism.

Thanks, Professor! PP doesn't know me or my history regarding Mormonism or Mormon discussions/debate. I'm not sure what he would expect to see from me. Thanks again for your post here!

Liz,

I'll answer this question some other time. Maybe a blog! Like anyone would read it, right!
