Why do some christians get retarded when Atheists call BS?

They get livid, their lips curl up and they snarl from the first mention that evidence is needed to establish a fact. Then they get pissy and moany, telling he atheist that deism is the only LOGICAL conclusion and that those who believe otherwise need therapy.

Then they start in with the "were an oppressed vast majority" nonsense. To the theist, the Atheist is irrational. I guess those who opposed racism in the segregated south were nonsensical too and in need of therapy for their "projection issues".

its funny how Christians react when presented with a call for evidence. What happened to the good old days in Rome when we could at least be entertained at the Colosseum? Ahh, those were the good old days.

I really wish you wouldn't speak for me. There are atheists/agnostics that do not feel the animosity toward Christians or other believers. I am not here to agree with you, or anyone else that people of faith are not intelligent and thoughtful. I do not ask those of faith for proof because that is ridiculous. Faith is the absence of proof, and if you haven't figured that out you're going to be on these boards a while I fear.

Merc is upset because he got caught making a blanket statement towards me about my clinging to God because I'm afraid of death. I replied to him and told him that in my personal situation that could come any day, and that is not why I believe in God. I then proceeded to let him know that abuse of believers because he was abused as a Mormon was not acceptable.

He can't handle it. Hence this thread.

We now continue with our regularly scheduled programming.

Indeed. I am in no ways a representative of a church, creed, or other collection of hokey pokeyish collection of shared rules.

Rules involving ceremony, canonical works, apocryphal stories and outright lies masquerading as truth. Mormonism itself has been my whole religious experience, its rose colored glasses still trying to be wiped from my minds eye. Yes I am a bit abrasive and I've apologised so many times im getting quite tired of being lashed at and gangposted by you all.

There are those who, frankly, the utility of posting would be wasted on. My time is very limited and Mrs. Toads wild ride is what I got for a relatively nonthreatening response. I'm very busy at work, even on weekends and evenings. The value of responding to yet another balk at my statements (posted with haste usually) are construed as avoidance, psychological instability and being out of touch. The few topics that have been floating around in my mind as of late are posted to other threads. and once again I was barraged by a slimy attempt at calling me out for my tardiness. Jesus Christ, do you people ever do anything else but wait with baited breath for my next post?

Shockingly the perspective I get is that once again I am called out for not believing in a God. I do not mind abrasive. But hiding behind superpowers such as board psychiatry is just plain childish.

I know its childish because when I have done it in the past it has been utter and complete parody of the blue variety. Creative writing if you will. Even when I lampoon coggy and others I do so because it is an exercise in futility to break down another over ASCII text. Those who think in pop psychology terms are acting as if they are competent professionals, a dangerous activity for the clown perpetrating such activity. So, I clown on them. Why? because it can be fun to make another feel the way they want others to feel with their fire and brimstone song and dance. What a mind****!
