I hope you're not considering the sbc folks as uptight as that.

And what's funnier is that because of my Mormon upbringing and the unhealthy focus on the "second only to murder" seriousness of inappropriate sexual activity, and the focus on nudity and its connection to sexual sin, I actually felt guilty when I'd see a naked African tribeswoman in National Geographic. It's really bizarre to me now, to think that people, because of their religion, think that it's somehow sinful for a person in another part of the world to walk around without a shirt on as part of their culture. We really are cultural chauvinists.
Dude, unless you were lucky enough to have a friend in the ward with a jackmo dad who had playboys... that was the only neekid woman a LDS boy would see for sometime!

Needless to say, we did have a few friends who had jackmo fathers.. our dad also subscribed to the National porno-geographic LOL!

The whole looking at women on national geographic is creepy.

My step-son freaked out when we went swimming and I had a bikini on. NOT right!

***edited to add***

OoP. This has nothing with the OP. Sorry Beastie.

My dad would have also freaked out if I went swimming with a bikini on.
That's General Leo. He could be my friend if he weren't my enemy.

I don't mind off topic comments on this thread, because they help to bump it up and maybe increase the chance Dr. Peterson will read it and respond. I'd really like to know what in the heck he was talking about.
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

What he was talking about is, most certainly, to be above your anti-Mormon head. Go ahead and score all the "points" you want, and display your "30 book learning" "degree" in "archaeology", but the bottom line is that all you really want to do is prove Mormonism WRONG. And you will do this at your own peril.

So the latest research on horses is above my anti-mormon head? Well, if that's the case, then Dr. Peterson will have an easy job explaining himself, and it will be apparent to all just how stupid I am.

Yes, I know that, in your world, God will punish me for believing the wrong things by forcibly divorcing me from my loved ones and refusing to let me ever see him or my heavenly mother ever again. God is wise and just. Surely I deserve as much, just as surely as God deserves your love and devotion for his wisdom and justice.

I hesitate to question "30 book learning", so I'd say you're moderately stupid.

You can see whoever you like. Not my call.

But, you don't even believe in "god". Remember, you're a "weak atheist". You even capitalised the "God"! Beastie! You're conceding!!! You mean "god" is worthy of being "God". I don't go for all this PC crap anyway, whether it be "G-d", or "god". It just reflects personal biases.

You go, boy! You tell me! Just let all that brilliance loose!

So given my "moderate" stupidity it should be extraordinarily easy for any Mormon with even average intelligence to demonstrate the flaws in my reasoning and points. Go for it. Go read my essays about the Book of Mormon in Mesoamerica and then show everyone how I've gone so stupidly wrong.

You should be able to do it with one hand tied behind your back.

Keep bumping the thread up for Daniel and that latest research!
