God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.

So you're saying he's being intolerant of Mormon intolerance?

Yep, that's what I'm saying. Which is why this whole notion of "tolerance" is ridiculous. It can not be justified by an rational person.

You have a valid point about this. It's one of the reasons I have very few of what I would consider to be "true friends" in Relief Society, or the Church, in general, for that matter.

I can't STAND the gossip and the backbiting that occurs. If you have a problem with me, tell me up front, and let's get it resolved. GRRR!

Of course, this is an issue in ANY large organization. Cliques, etc. happen in the workplace, in churches (not just LDS)...I guess it's an inherent problem with being human.

I sure try to "buck the system" every chance I get, if this is truly the norm, though. LOL

Personally, I find the idea that Mormons are really nice people to be a bit left of true. Some Mormons are really nice people, but by and large I have not found Mormons to be really nice people. I've found them to be arrogant self-righteous pricks who think they're special in God's eyes. Nice people don't think they're special. There are some true Saints among us, but for the most part, we have a long ways to go in the Nice People Department.

While all of that may or may not be true, how is it somehow morally superior for the op to ridicule another's belief and, perhaps more significantly, ridicule the character the adherents of those beliefs, in the name of tolerance. Seems quite intolerant to me.

I, on the other hand, am one, so I know a fair few and wish I didn't know a fair few more.

I didn't see anywhere in the OP where he even brought up the word "tolerance" (or any of its derivations). I suspect you missed the point.
