I think you hit the nail right on the head right there bud..most LDS members have all the truth they want..they want the church to be true- therefore the church is true - it is all quite circular and funny to observe once you rip the brain clamps off. as I'm sure you will find out while posting here, you cannot use faith as proof of truth, you cannot prove somthing did or did not happen based the absence of evidence.
Do I "want truth"? Of course. But I already have a portion of it, I believe.
I am not surprised you "believe" you have the truth, and you want more. let me share one with you now --
-- there is no physical evidence that the Book of Mormon is a record of an ancient people living anywhere in the world.--
I know. No doubts will put off the unmistakable witness that is the Holy Ghost. ;)
once you realize the the Holy Ghost has given you an unmistakable witness of somthing that is not based in history or reality, you may find another way to justify the keystone of your faith if you like(the circular reality). then one day, possibly soon you will actually accept the painful truth the HG is not a very good way to judge absolute eternal truth. the next step to apostacy is an attempt to redfine what truth is(as many apologists do) or attempt to redifine what reality is, either way being on internet message boards defending the LDS church is an excellent way to loose ones faith, and an even better way to gain a very unexpected view of your reality..
