LOL!
Our covenants are different, more super to yours. Why? Because of what our organization offers that yours doesn't.
It's not an oversimplification at all.
The ONLY thing that makes LDS covenants unique from every other tradition is the claim to authority. Eg, the institution stands between you and God at all times. There are plenty of conf talks - current and old - ensuring members never forget this. Look up Ron Poleman.

1 Corinthians 11:25 ESV /
In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.”

Take it as you will.honorentheos wrote: ↑Wed Feb 22, 2023 4:54 amSo you came back to assert that you have a relationship that makes you special that is a bit like a dork claiming they for sure have the hottest girlfriend they can't introduce to anyone?
Cool story.

Re: Making Covenants
This thing with the SEC will pass and you can soon return to your humble superiority and your covenants with the invisible, lecturing the unbelievers here. Don't worry, disobedience to man's law doesn't really mean anything. God's law is what is important and covenants. Don't forget the covenants. Anyway, hiding money is merely a cost of doing business. The weakest of the members couldn't handle the truth about exorbitant church wealth, so the scheme was really to protect the members. You know from themselves .... for the covenants .....
Myth is misused by the powerful to subjugate the masses all too often.

Re: Making Covenants
To which specific covenants does the author refer? And because covenants involve reciprocity, what promises does God make toward those who covenant with Him?

Re: Making Covenants
On what basis can we be sure the Church can be trusted to articulate and process covenants correctly, when those same people have consistently sought to hide information from members of the Church? And when those same people cannot be trusted to process SEC filings correctly…over a 22 year period? And when those same people continually change what those covenants are/mean?
MG0.0 - Once you’ve clearly demonstrated that the Church has a track record of being trustworthy, then we can move on to what Mulestain is rabbiting on about.
