I know this thread is about Boyland, but kudos to Kwuaku for hanging in there for 2.5 hours. Perhaps the result of this interaction will eventually serve as a mile marker in his life.

That is laudable. Kwaku isn’t much of a debater, but people find him charming, and it is always better not to abandon the field.

Paul Gee is a contemporary incarnation of the old school cult ministries from the 80s and 90s. If you look at his website ‘Christianity vs Mormonism’ you’ll get a good look into what the guy is all about. When guys like this step into a public ministry and invest a tremendous amount of time in trying to talk people out of their religion, they better know their stuff forwards and backwards.

I have no sympathy for people like that and Boylan making efforts to display their ignorance is exactly what they invited him to do.

It was a missed opportunity. You can tell Boylan goes into these encounters with the mindset that he is a representative of a team and any embarrassment meted out to rival teams is a net gain for the home team. This kind of outlook provides immediate psychological gratification because it frames these encounters in such a way that you feel superior when you outperform the other side and it gives the illusion that something more meaningful was accomplished than what actually transpired.

Boylan absolutely could have made his point without embarrassing his interlocutors and if he had demonstrated a little grace and charitability, he could have come off like a knowledgeable and classy guy who is completely confident in his beliefs. Flexing on a couple of dudes with no formal training or background in ancient Christianity doesn’t really communicate confidence or subject matter mastery, just naked aggression.

Kawku rage quit a debate with Sam Shamoun about an hour in. They were both pretty insufferable but Kawku gave up first. He also had a pretty silly meltdown at the end of a debate with Vocab Malone. Both videos are on "The Gospel Truth" YouTube channel.

Why not engage with Shulem on the topic of the Book of Abraham? What kind of a coward must Boylan be to squabble with some group who had no idea what he was going on about, but refuse to defend a book dictated by Joseph Smith?!!!

Will Boylan let the Book of Abraham rot on the vine or will he ride forth and engage his wits against Shulem?

Boylan specifically tries to debate only amateurs and only on the topic of Sola Scriptura. He only wants to "win" as others have pointed out.
