I hear that Kyler Rasmussen is hard at work researching this exact topic for an upcoming Interpreter article called, "Recording Nephite Horse Fecal Length With A Measuring Tapir."
Also, scientists have recently discovered a new type of tapir deep in the Amazon rainforest. Due to this tapir's unique fondness for spying on, and stalking other tapirs, scientists have decided to name the new creature, "Tapir Midgley."

"I'm on paid sabbatical from BYU in exchange for my promise to use this time to finish two books."

Re: The Most Difficult Question in Mopologetics
I donated my highly profitable non-profit in anti-counter-pseudo-apologetics to the LDS Church, and I’d do it again in a heartbeat!
"I have learned with what evils tyranny infects a state. For it frustrates all the virtues, robs freedom of its lofty mood, and opens a school of fawning and terror, inasmuch as it leaves matters not to the wisdom of the laws, but to the angry whim of those who are in authority.”

As apologists have pointed out before, "Churches are not required to be charitable." Charity is for those other so-called "Religious" outfits who get their charitable notions from some unknown source.

If the church truly believed that members can't afford to lose the blessings paying tithing brings then they should accept a program where members bring their tithing cash to the bishop and they ceremoniously burn it in a little alter in his office.drumdude wrote: ↑Thu Sep 28, 2023 1:51 amFor me, it’s the teaching that the starving mom should pay her tithing before buying food for her family that is truly evil.
If the church has more money than it can keep track of, so much that it just heaps it into a big useless pile, that means the church is asking that starving mom to sacrifice everything so that the church gains nothing.
It’s such an ugly fact that DCP can’t help but wiggle and squirm when money and the church is brought up.
“Eternal blessings for being obedient” rings hollow in the ears of those who are actually struggling. Those who don’t have the luxury playing director and blogging about their latest steak dinner.
