So, they aren't even actual bound hard copies? People are supposed to pay $35 and/or $15 for an electronic *pdf that could easily be mailed to them for free?Boylan wrote:If people would like to get a PDF of either/both of these texts, you can do so. The costs are:
Joseph Smith and the Ancient World = $35
As Far as it is Translate Correctly = $15

Wow, this guy REALLY knows how to turn a profit! Especially considering that someone else did all the actual work!drumdude wrote: ↑Wed Jun 12, 2024 2:00 pmCorrect.Dr. Shades wrote: ↑Wed Jun 12, 2024 8:46 amSo, they aren't even actual bound hard copies? Has provenance been confirmed? Maybe I have some of Hugh Nibley’s lost notes and surprisingly, they agree with a lot of my beliefs.
We can't take farmers and take all their people and send them back because they don't have maybe what they're supposed to have. They get rid of some of the people who have been there for 25 years and they work great and then you throw them out and they're replaced by criminals.

Provenance, followed by rights. If this were true, Boylan should have verified provenance and then stated how he acquired the rights to publish and sell.

The guy is obsessed with money, even worried about youtube taking $3 of a $10 donation. I don't think working as an obscure researcher on Mormon apologetics pays him very well.

At the very least, it is sloppy and negligent not to explain the legitimacy of his right to profit off the writings of a deceased man to whom he is not apparently related.
"I have learned with what evils tyranny infects a state. For it frustrates all the virtues, robs freedom of its lofty mood, and opens a school of fawning and terror, inasmuch as it leaves matters not to the wisdom of the laws, but to the angry whim of those who are in authority.”

I'm not finding this post. Did he take it down, or is my google-fu just off?drumdude wrote: ↑Sun Jun 09, 2024 5:41 amBobby B wrote:Until his death in June 2018, John A. Tvedtnes was working on a number of books. I have managed to get drafts of two of them:
Joseph Smith and the Ancient World (~750 pp.) and

If people would like to get a PDF of either/both of these texts, you can do so. The costs are:
