They are intended for a youth and young adult audience as part of our efforts to provide accurate, well-documented answers to criticisms of the doctrine, practice and history of the Church.

This is The Show” video series isn’t a change in our course, It’s our first attempt to support young people—using means, methods, and media commonly familiar to them—in their efforts to understand and defend sincere and insincere questions or attacks on their faith and beliefs.
It is a blatant breach of human decency to suggest these videos "provide accurate, well-documents answers to criticisms.." Everyone knows that, even those who support FAIR. I've seen two videos and there is basically nothing documented, as I recall, and no effort whatsoever to be accurate. They will provide little beyond a few sarcastic taunts. I don't doubt there are some young BYU student types who will enjoy these videos. Some people like false bravado and mockery when it comes to characterizing those who they disagree with. It gives them confidence, gives them "feeling the spirit" moments after, perhaps, having heard a critique of their faith "yeah...Runnells is just really dishonest. And the Church is good and everything else is bad." That was actually a summary of the one video I watched where they brought on Satan for a few giggles. No, serious it was a 6 and half minute video saying things like Runnells is dishonest and his Letter is utter garbage designed to get people to sin because, apparently, anyone who doesn't agree with the church have no morals. That FAIR is proclaiming something like that as being "accurate, well-documented" or anything near an effort to "defend sincere and insincere questions or attacks" they are lying, as blatantly as anyone can.
FairMormon alone is responsible for the content. They can't really weasel out of their lies at this point. It appears they are happily taking on the added attention and think these videos are somehow productive, in the realm of defending the faith.
On the flip side I've revisited parts of the CES Letter. I recall feeling pretty underwhelmed when I first read it, but going back I'd say it's not too shabby at all. Its no wonder FAIR Mormon has gone to desperate measures to attack it. I doubt there is much more than a few decent points to make in response to it. It appears fair has tried so many times to take it down, but has failed and that is understandable since the CES Letter seems like a good faith effort to be honest. #NewfoundrespectforCESLeetter here.
