Why did the Angel and Joseph and up to Big Spence all say the Indians to the South Sea Islanders were Lamanites and Descendants of Father Lehi?
Surely Angels and Prophets know this stuff?
The Book of Mormon DOES say "others" where there.....

The Angel didn't say any such thing. Everything else is human failings.SuperDell wrote:Why did the Angel and Joseph and up to Big Spence all say the Indians to the South Sea Islanders were Lamanites and Descendants of Father Lehi?
Surely you have the ability to think things through a bit more than that. That is why God gave you a brain.SuperDell wrote:Surely Angels and Prophets know this stuff?
"You lack vision, but I see a place where people get on and off the freeway. On and off, off and on all day, all night.... Tire salons, automobile dealerships and wonderful, wonderful billboards reaching as far as the eye can see. My God, it'll be beautiful." -- Judge Doom

Joseph Smith wrote: When I was about 17 years old I saw another vision of angels in the night season after I had retired to bed I had not been asleep, ... all at once the room was illuminated above the brightness of the sun an angel appeared before me ... he said unto me I am a messenger sent from God, be faithful and keep his commandments in all things, he told me of a sacred record which was written on plates of gold, I saw in the vision the place where they were deposited, he said the Indians were the literal descendants of Abraham (The Papers of Joseph Smith, Vol. 2, Journal, 1832-1842, edited by Dean C. Jessee, Deseret Book Company, Salt Lake City, copyright 1992 Corporation of the President, pp. 69-70, emphasis added).
It is better to be a warrior in a garden, than a gardener at war.
Some of us, on the other hand, actually prefer a religion that includes some type of correlation with reality.

Let the name calling begin.
Riding on a speeding train; trapped inside a revolving door;
Lost in the riddle of a quatrain; Stuck in an elevator between floors.
One focal point in a random world can change your direction:
One step where events converge may alter your perception.
