Re: Happy Birthday President Nelson!
As is par for the course I stand by everything I’ve said in this thread no matter how twisted others try and make my comments out to be. My intent was to simply provide a thread in which folks could express birthday wishes to the leader of the LDS Church. Some did, others chose a different path in which they simply could not recognize the accomplishments of this great man.
Here’s to 102!!

No, you were trolling. Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

You are not the judge, jury, and executioner. You’re a poser. A wannabe. I said what I said and that’s that.I Have Questions wrote: ↑Fri Sep 12, 2025 7:24 pmNo, you were trolling. Re: Happy Birthday President Nelson!
Now MG on this very thread you put forward and lauded Nelson’s admonition for Mormons to show kindness and peacemaking in their communications with others. If you valued Nelson’s counsel, and if you sustain Nelson, and if you’re a believing Mormon, why are you being unkind and inflammatory towards me?

Who said anything about offense? You’ve ignored the very thing Nelson said that you put forward in this thread. That’s a dead giveaway of your trolling intent. You can’t be kind and you can’t promote peace because it’s inherently not what you are here to do, and it is inherently not who you are. The evidence is in your posts. It will continue to show up in your posts.MG 2.0 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 12, 2025 7:36 pmNo offense intended.I Have Questions wrote: ↑Fri Sep 12, 2025 7:31 pmNow MG on this very thread you put forward and lauded Nelson’s admonition for Mormons to show kindness and peacemaking in their communications with others. As I’ve mentioned too many times to count at this point…it is in the eye of the beholder. In my opinion, you have jaundiced eyes…as I have also previously mentioned. We’re getting into a rehash of a rehash. I don’t know that I’m all that interested in doing so. You will continue to see things your way and I will do the same. We are opposites, you and I. One, a believer in a loving God who created this world in which we live and breathe.I Have Questions wrote: ↑Fri Sep 12, 2025 7:38 pmWho said anything about offense? Another, a disbeliever who for all intents and purposes seems to have no real belief or confidence in anything as far as we can discern. Except possibly himself.

Re: Happy Birthday President Nelson!
I’ll be watching out for your posts to meet Nelson’s criteria of kindness and peacemaking, and pointing out when you fail. You brought the standard to the board and lauded it. I’m going to hold you to it (knowing you just won’t be able to meet it because that’s not why you are here). This will be fun.MG 2.0 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 12, 2025 7:48 pmAs I’ve mentioned too many times to count at this point…it is in the eye of the beholder. MG2.0 I understand you may already be aware, but the individuals you are encountering here are among the most narrow-minded and self-righteous ex-Mormons that ex-Mormonism has to present. I am an ex-Mormon, yet I have a deep appreciation for Mormons and their beliefs. Please don't assume that all ex-Mormons share the same extreme views as those who post here.

Yet another example of mentalgymnast's forté, as defined earlier. He "is expressing an 'opinion,' and then explaining that the reason someone has a different 'opinion' is that something is wrong with them. He never has specifics, just very ugly innuendo."MG 2.0 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 12, 2025 7:48 pm...We are opposites, you and I. His trolling technique is ubiquitous.
