I believe the individual who has the truth made known to him by the Holy Ghost, which personage is a God, who's power and intelligence is as the heavens are higher than the earth superior to ours, would factually know that truth beyound any power mortal man has to convey truth. However I do not believe that individual can prove that knowledge to others.

All I know for sure in this world is what has been made known to me by the Holy Ghost, everything else I do not know absolutely for sure. Everything else apart from what the Holy Ghost has made known to me is only subjective knowledge. I do not know for absolute certainty that black is black and white is white, or the Sky is Blue as I have not had it made known to me by the Holy Ghost, so I only go on inference. After all science tells us we live in a colorless universe.

You may not be able to prove it to others, for sure. How was it proved to you? Or is it still a belief? Can you at least explain that for me?

Specific questions: how do you know that the Holy Ghost is a personage, "who's power and intelligence is as the ........" and made the truth known to you?

You say that you believe that a person would factually know... That's not the same thing as factually knowing, is it?

Joseph Smith once said that the greatest authority that there is, is first hand direct individual experience. That is how I have recieved a testimony through the power of the Holy Ghost, and I suggest that is the only way any individual can know the truth is by direct first hand personal experience of the Holy Ghost. As for explaining what that is like, I think only a fool would try, its beyound words in my experience. And infact that is just what the scriptures say, 'the Spirit of Truth'.

How do I know? Any individual that has any truth made known to him by the Holy Ghost, factually knows what ever is made known to him. I am no exception, just one of billions I suppose. I have had the personage of the Holy Ghost stand right next to me bodily, when I later recieved my patriachal blessing from a complete stranger, he informed me through the blessing that would happen to me from time to time throughout my life and it has just like he said. Let me make this perfectly clear too, I can't emphasize this enough I am just an average shmow, I do my best non-theless I am about as spiritual as a house brick. The Power of the Holy Ghost can't be proven only directly experienced first hand.

Anyhow I suppose all this would be irrelevant if one believed in a Godless universe.

So does person who doesn't get a visit from the Holy Ghost have a legitimate reason to leave the Church?

The Holy Ghost has a body? What does s/he look like? How tall was s/he? Did s/he wear cologne or perfume?

007, A person who has not had the witness of the Holy Ghost, and then decides to leave the church for whatever reason, will not be judged the same as one who has had the witness of the Holy Ghost that has always been, my belief, my understanding and as far as I know that is doctrine. (however I am no authority on the inns and outs of Mormon Doctrine, just a simple member)

The Holy Ghost looks exactly similiar to Christ, but without a body

He is a personage of spirit, I would suggest if your curious about particulars not to trust a blogger but to go to God in prayer.

What does this "personage of spirit" look like? You said he stood right next to you.

What blogger have I trusted?
