So at the worst (from my pov) the rate is equal or higher. And on top of that, this is only one of the many references I gave. You haven't been able to adequetly address even this one.

Same with heterosexual domestic violence. So you'll need to make the same assumption that the hetero domestic violence is also higher than reported. It's a non-starter.

You're still left with equal or higher. But I think now that you've made it your own, you'll have to show that heterosexual abuse is just as under reported as homosexual abuse.

You can start here:

Lawrence A. Greenfeld et al. (1998). Violence by Intimates: Analysis of Data on Crimes by Current or Former Spouses, Boyfriends, and Girlfriends. Bureau of Justice Statistics Factbook. Washington DC: U.S. Department of Justice. NCJ #167237. Available from National Criminal Justice Reference Service.

It states that about half of domestic violence is unreported.

.....what....?!

I don't think you're actually talking to me anymore. Exactly who are you talking to?

I am not bashing their conclusions! I am agreeing with their concusion!
What in the name of bigotry are you going on about?!

Aren't you the one who said....

how could they possibly construct the statement 'LGBT domestic violence still appears to be vastly under-reported', or even attempt to construct a percentage related to actual instances of abuse with the relationships...?

Which was the conclusion of a gay activist group. lol

...and yes, I did actually. A-level statistics. Thanks for asking...

Didn't seem to do you any good.

My point was simply that heterosexual abuse is underreported - your prior post had implied that only homosexual domestic abuse was, with the inference that this somehow made homosexual domestic abuse more prevalent than heterosexual domestic abuse.

Do you have a statistic that shows how underreported homosexual domestic abuse is? If not, then your argument is meaningless and we are left with the statement in your source that rates are the same for both groups.

Oh yeah, turns out that the conclusion of the Committee on Lesbian Health Research Priorities that states that it "did not find that lesbians are at higher risk for any particular health problem simply because they have a lesbian sexual orientation" is found right in the IOM report that bcspace offered us as evidence that supports his bigotry.

Without even having seen the first paragrpaph.

Oh, the irony!

A point which has already been made and I have no contention with.

- your prior post had implied that only homosexual domestic abuse was, with the inference that this somehow made homosexual domestic abuse more prevalent than heterosexual domestic abuse.

No, it can still be equal (as I said) and it can still be more. My question now is gay DV more or less underreported than heterosexual DV?

Lending more weight to my suspicion that bcspace is borrowing a compilation of research that he did not do himself (or even bother to read thoroughly).

I really don't know how to answer you anymore. As far as rediculousness, I think you just went off the charts.
Explain to me - in your mind - how you think my above statement is meant to mean that I am 'bashing their conclusions'...?

I'm telling you that -if they had the data to understand how wide the gap is between 'reported' and 'unreported', they could use that data to construct an 'actual' abuse rate.

I am agreeing with their conclusion. At least, until I'm given a good reason to beleive otherwise.
YOU are the one who doesn't want to belevie their own reference. What is said in that reference - in black and white.

This is big irony. This is your OWN reference. And yet you don't actually beleive what it says!!
And then, when that isn't enough, you accuse me of 'bashing' it, when I was doing anything but. I was defending it - against YOU.

You are really outdoing yourself here bcspace.
It's uncomfortable to watch, to be perfectly honest...

You tell me.

The outcome really doesn't matter to me, since it's still not a compelling reason to oppose marriage for gays.
