I somewhat doubt it. After all, If I recall correctly, they let DiggerDan's nasty MMM comment go unpunished. And Pacman's gloating about trolling the Catholic boards. And Pahoran's entire oeuvre. Then again, they did boot out Wade for a time. And Serious is keeping me company in Purgatory (for whatever reason).

Back on ZLMB, I had a few believers PM me privately, or tell me privately in chats, that they found Pahoran's behavior offensive and believed he harmed their cause, and would like to have seen him banned permanently. They didn't speak out openly on the board, for whatever reason.

Where did Pacman gloat about trolling the catholic boards? I'd like to see that one, given how certain TBMs insist Mormons are above such behavior.

So, since Ray is aligning himself with those who call people like me, lazy, sinful, proud, and following Satan, I guess I have to assume he is one of them.

Of course, he's already made that pretty obvious on this thread.

I do have to say, as I've said before, I don't know any real life Mormon, with one exception, who would behave this way. When I first left the church, my father started to act a bit as if he was going to try and bully me back, but my mother dragged him to the SP who read him the riot act, and reminded him that it was my father's job to make sure I was still loved, and the door would always be open for me, should I change my mind one day. Maybe my experience is unusual since I live in the mission field, and Mormons don't have the bullying attitude that majorities so often do.

I'm sure on an internet board they would behave a bit differently - I certainly do. I never talk about these things with them. But I do not believe they would act like the more notorious apologists - Pahoran, Juliann, and, sadly, now Ray - I think this is a personality issue, not a religious issue. People who behave like that are going to behave like that no matter what side of the fence they are on.

I also don't know any real life exmormon who would behave like some of the more notorious RFMers do, either. Again, I think it's personality.
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

I agree with Orson. And it's not a fraud. After careful examination, and consulting with my deficient brain and pathetic emotions - I have concluded it's genuine.

I will now enter the Hall of Infamy of those who support the Book of Mormon. I love and crave matryrdom. Joseph is my idol. Sorry to disappoint those who thought DCP was number one in my books.

So do you concede that others have, after careful examination, concluded that it's a fraud?

And that they have a moral obligation to share that information?

You're such a darling, beastie, you always win my heart. Can I enter a raffle where you're a firecracker and I can pull one end and get you? Or do I have to apply to Social Security?

I will say again, Pahoran has been right all along. I, too, did think he was very harsh and was critical of him, because he never gave an inch to exmos and antis. I now understand his reasons.

I don't care what they think. A piece about my other idol:

Porter Rockwell was a close boyhood friend of the Prophet Joseph Smith. Joseph loved Porter, and Joseph's wife hated him. He is the source for every legend about "Danites," Mormon Mafias, and a lot of other such things. He was a gunslinger, a bodyguard, a bounty hunter, indian fighter, missionary, US Marshall, and a temple worker, often at the same time. He clearly had a hard, hard time adhering to much of what Mormons--especially Mormons in the last 100 years--would consider "decent" behavior. He drank, swore, and gambled. He was loved and feared at the same time by different people. His hair and beard were long after the Prophet Joseph told him that if he never cut his hair or beard (like the Nazarites of old) that he would be protected from the Devil and from harm. Like Wyatt Earp, though shot at many, many times, he was never hit. It should also be noted that separating the fact from legend in Porter's life is impossible at this point, which perhaps makes it *better* for present purposes.

beastie wrote:Yes, you behave like a few posters on RFM that some insist represent the entire group. You know full well, in your more rational moments, that I've stood up to those on RFM that I believed were behaving poorly. I'm doing the same to you.

Oh, and by the way - I've never been alone when I spoke out to those certain posters. So I don't only expect, but know from experience, that such decency exists there. I'm assuming, based on the more reasonable behavior of some apologists, that they realize your behavior is hurting their cause. Would they speak out to you, like I did to benson and cabbie? I hope so, but who knows.

Finished with your holier-than-thou lecture? They can "speak out" all they want, it makes no difference to me.

There you go. Pick as your idol an individual who was such a fanatic that he was quite willing to engage in violence if his prophet desired. Continue to attack us with your epithets.

At the same time, remember to lecture us about how our Lutherite hate speech inspires future Nazis to acts of violence.

The combination of the two tells anyone except the most rabid TBMs everything they need to know about your point of view.

Does this board have any archive system, I wonder? I'd like to see it saved.
