What I can't imagine is why on earth this subject came up at all. It would be like me talking about my cousin and saying, "Oh, you know he's gay, don't you?" If it's common knowledge, why would it have come up? And if it wasn't common knowledge, why would it have come up?

I'm going to have to side with Rollo and Scratch on this one. At best this was just gossip, plain and simple.

You are absolutely right. What's more, the whole affair is complicated by the SP's (and DCP's subsequent) discussing of this mysterious "sad incident." If, as DCP claims, Quinn's sexuality was "common knowledge," that would be one thing. But this little "circle"'s discussion of the "sad incident" catapults it into into a somewhat darker, more "subterranean", as it were, arena.

For the record, I don't think it was part of some sinister smear campaign. But as I said, it seems clear to me that it was idle gossip. That's about all I have to say about this subject, as it has never interested me.

I am not sure if it is the way he miss represents the truth or his way of avoiding answering questions by making stupid non-sensical comments or maybe it's his avitar. From the number of post he makes, I wonder if does anything at his BYU job. Maybe, posting is his BYU job.

Actually, that is the subject. Just about always, it seems.

To allay your concerns: I put the finishing touches on two chapters for a book today, and am just about done with my notes for a lecture on the biography of Muhammad tomorrow afternoon.

Incidentally, I don't think you have to choose between your three reasons for despising me. You can simply despise me for all three reasons. It's a free country, and there is no minimum or maximum number of reasons for hating somebody.

If it was so "well known", then I'm sure you would have no problem saying what it was. The fact remains that the SP violated the standards of his ecclesiastical office. In any case, I doubt very much that this "sad incident" was "a public matter," especially given the fact that you have been dancing around and suggesting that all of this has to do with Quinn's sexuality somehow.

You already made it quite clear that you didn't want to engage Scratch anymore. You have also implied that you believe Rollo and Scratch to be the same poster.

If you honestly don't want to engage Scratch, then why top the thread? He was the initiator of the thread to begin with.

It seems like you're continuing to taunt him, even after you made it clear that you didn't want to engage him further.

Actually DP is a special piece of work but the one that gets me the most is "Why Me". The moniker itself plays a victim. The avatar is disgusting, especially after his comments on the use of Bednar's and Packer's avatars. Then you put this together with his continuous polyanna comments and I go sick.
