The term "grooming" has become highly politicized and controversial. It is being used more frequently in a derogatory manner by associating it with false accusations of child abuse or indoctrination. This misuse has increased in recent years, especially in the context of political debates and social media discourse.

WOKE.

Those days are leaving us behind. Adults can be trusted in most cases to do the right thing. There are exceptions, of course.

You can be trusted to do the right thing I'm sure. Even when it might include reinforcing a child's self-worth/esteem by giving them a pat on the back or a squeeze on the shoulder to say, "I care about you." (I know, you're probably reading this with an underlying fear that it means something other than what it actually means).

That, Marcus, is what WOKE has done to our society writ large. Ypu might consider yourself to either be a convert and/or a victim of this false narrative. But we can start to see indicators that those days are going away and we can get back to some sense of normalcy and human kindness.

It's gotten SO crazy.

My guess is there are many here who agree with me but can't speak up but for fear of not falling in line with a false narrative.

You are a sick person, mentalgymnast. You troll the edges of acceptable behavior, always trying to push into something gross that you can justify on the surface. It's shameful, and no, i would not trust you with any children.
If you consider yourself a representative of the LDS church, I feel sorry for them. You're nothing more than a troll, here to gratify your sick needs. You show up here only when you need a fix. You are a shameful example of the worst that LDS thought can do to a human.

MGDS

MG Derangement Syndrome.

You have lost all reason.

Pushing something gross? What?

Acceptable behavior? According to who? (sounds Orwellian)

What am I justifying? ?

Shameful? What...really?

Sick needs? Exactly what are you referring to?

Why do I show up? I think I've adequately explained why. And it's not what you think.

I'm comfortable with my faith journey within the LDS Church. It has resulted in a belief in God. A belief in Jesus Christ. A belief in the human spirit to achieve and find happiness while at the same time obeying God's commandments. It helps broaden my outlook as to the meaning and purpose of life and the creation of the universe.

Things that you find of little value. Honestly? I think it is your worldview that results in a dead end. You have absolutely nothing to offer as far as I can tell.

Something broke in you on your last post.

You remind me a bit of Al Green last night:

https://www.nbcnews.com/now/video/rep-a ... 3504837744

He is an extreme example of Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Even though I don't agree with everything Trump is or does I do think I can related to the fact that there are those in the world that make it explicitly clear that no other ideologies are acceptable other than their own.

Yes, you have. And my point remains the same: You are a sick person, mentalgymnast. You troll the edges of acceptable behavior, always trying to push into something gross that you can justify on the surface. It's shameful.

If you consider yourself a representative of the LDS church, I feel sorry for them. You're nothing more than a troll, here to gratify your sick needs. You have been coming here for years, trying to explain how you think you are better than others. You must really be missing something in your life to find gratification in your trolling. I don't even think of you as LDS any more, because you have gone beyond that with your trolling tendencies. Your sickness is yours alone.

Rehashing of a rehash. Didn't actually engage. All froth no substance. This thread manifests my declaration in my opening posts.

Marcus, I do know why I participate here. For the life of me, however, I cannot figure out why you troll me constantly. It takes A LOT of your time to do so.

I have a purpose. I'm not sure that I can see what yours is.

Unless, again, it's MGDS. No one else here has the fixation on me that you do.

It's unhealthy.

I think this thread has proved its worth and I'm willing to let it 'sit' if you are.

Deal?

Surely as a teacher you would see the safety of the children as paramount, and be fully supportive of any measures that helped stopped further abuses like the ones that “ruined things for you”?
Most definitely.

Where are you going with this?

IHAQ, children have needs. Have you had children of your own? Do you know what I'm talking about? As teachers part of our job was to help children feel safe.

I'm not talking about going and giving support and recognizing any random kid. That would be weird.

Again, where are you going with this?

Of course I'm supportive of measures that protect kids.

MG
But that wasn’t your first thought. Your immediate response, and the one you gave in your reply to me, was that improving child protection spoiled things for you.

I also note that your dismissive attitude towards improved awareness of how groomers work, and how some unwitting behaviours by others assists in grooming children, suggests you’re still putting your needs first.

I further note that you have yet to explain, specifically, what you were advocating when you told people to go hug a child in your opening salvo of passive aggressive criticism of people who frequent this board. Go for a walk, read a book, spend time with family etc are all normal suggestions about alternative ways to spend time rather than digitally. “Go hug a child” does not fit that. It stands out. It’s an odd addition. It’s a creepy addition. It’s the suggestion of someone who thinks going round hugging unrelated children is normal, acceptable, practice for an adult male. It isn’t. It’s a creepy think to do and it’s a creepy suggestion to make.

Your church is facing hundreds and hundreds and hundreds more cases involving creepy dudes like you taking advantage of their church calling to groom and molest children. And you’re going round advocating for behaviour that assists them in their depraved intentions.

Stop it.

I know your primary motive in posting here is trolling and to try to fill some void that you’ve got in your personal life, but when you contribute here on an extended basis, you cannot avoid letting some very real red flags slip into your plethora of posts. You’re a tortured soul, get some proper help.
Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

So, was Joseph Smith obeying God's spiritual commands when he hacked out the nose and headcloth of the dog-headed Egyptian god in whom the Masons acknowledged as such?

Tell me how this kind of wanton behavior that centers around the principle of deception gets you closer to Christ.

Speak up, I can't hear you, MG. Don't you know Joseph Smith was a constant liar? Haven't you figured that out? Doesn't the image below tell you something?

I cannot convince you to the facts as they are. It reminds me a bit of politics. I think we are at an impasse on this topic. I know who I am and what I stand for. You're in your own mindspace and cannot be convinced by my words because you have little or no trust that I'm telling the truth.

As always, I'll let my previous words in this thread speak for themselves.

Story time. A former coworker was a very popular teacher who was a dedicated TBM and had about 25 years experience. He was a hugger and incorporated risky innuendos in his lessons. One in particular I remember he said "all your boyfriend wants is to get in your genes". Biology lesson. This got him in hot water which ended up him being transferred to a middle school. Fast forward 3 years and he is transferred back to his original job. Early one morning he was escorted to his room by two oddly dressed law enforcement officers where they confiscated all his computers. Turns out he had groomed a 7th grader while there and the same student was in his 10th grade class. Her mom and students found out he was sexting her for years. I think he got one year in prison for grooming.

That’s a groomers MO. Start with small things to test the water, like jokey innuendo or hugs, and escalate once people become accustomed to it.
