Board Guidelines
Guidelines for all Mormon Apologetics and Discussion Board:
The Mormon Apologetics and Discussion Board are a discussion forum for apologetics (defense of the faith) related to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) or Mormonism in general and related topics of interest to the LDS and Mormon communities.
Open and frank discussions will occur but participants are expected to exercise common courtesy and 'netiquette' when posting. There is a fellowship forum for discussing topics without debating them.
While we encourage a free exchange of ideas, this is a free idea zone, not a free speech zone. All comments and discussions should be substantive and informative and posters should exercise good judgment in what they post. Posters should act at least as well as they would in a live, public conversation or debate.
Forbidden topics and posts include but are not limited too:
- Politics
- Harassing or threatening statements.
- Personal insults, ad hominem, flaming or badgering other posters.
- SPAM, advertisements, Pornographic or illegal content.
- Posting personal messages, content that is copyrighted or materials from other sites without permission from the author(s) or owner(s)
- Posts or links that encourage or start board wars (cross posting, etc.)
- Advertising your site or board and other forms of proselyting both pro or con.
- Content that may be sacred to others and not intended for public consumption (sacred rites, Temple ceremonies, discussion of the Temple clothing, etc.)
Moderator and Administration actions are considered final word on a subject. Arguing with the moderators and/or any attempts to circumvent moderator actions are forbidden (creating multiple identities to avoid suspensions, cross-posting, etc.)
Behavior that is deemed in violation of these rules and guidelines can result in being suspended or permanently banned from the forums without notice. Behavior that is deemed illegal (stalking, predatory behavior towards minors, posting illegal images or content) may be reported to legal authorities.
Rules governing poster conduct also apply to personal messages and e-mail hosted or facilitated by the Mormon Apologetics and Discussion Board. Message logs and posting logs may be accessed for cases of reported abuse or harassment.
By posting on Mormon Apologetics and Discussion Board you agree to the terms and conditions of this service, and assign the copyright and use right in the material posted to MA&D. Materials posted on the Mormon Apologetics and Discussion Board may not be reproduced elsewhere without the permission of MA&D and the materials' authors. Participation on these boards is at the sole discretion of MA&D administration and can be revoked at any time.
Instead of posting all the things one can't write I wish they would just say what you can say.
1. Going on feelings-alright.
2. Faith promoting rumors-alright.
3. Testimonials of Book of Mormon truth-alright.
4. Pointing out flaws in reason-not alright.
