I'm not attempting to punch holes in it becaue I don't take any of it seriously. Its just another juicy target for parody. I don't want you to think that I didn't notice your defence of the Church in the matter, however, and I have to say I was more than a little surprised (your evil twin never would have done such a thing).

I'm out of that discussion, as far as seriousness goes, however, because the thread was never "serious" in the first place.

That's because you don't know a damn thing about me, Loran, nor are you aware of the stances I've taken on various issues on these types of boards. That is to say, your head is elsewhere.

I do know that LSD was a raving, irrational, sanctimonious anti-LDS bigot who could not be reasoned with, even in the most mild and nonconfrontational way. You don't seem to be like that.

I don't have an evil twin. As I implied in previous posts to you, when you jumped on the bandwagon over on ZLMB you didn't know what you were responding to. You gave the effect of someone who regained consciousness and saw a few threads and seemed to say "whoo hooo! An anti-target! Think I'll start shooting". The thing, Loran, is that you didn't know what the heck you were responding to, didn't know what had taken place, and decided to shoot at anything that seemed to move in an anti direction based on total misunderstanding of the events that had taken place. You totally jumped into a situation in progress not knowing what it was about and started shooting.

No problem.

Shoot all you like only don't expect me to duck and hide.

I have made an effort to find something to appreciate in you on this board, Loran, but I will not allow you to continue along this path without calling you on your willful ignorance.

Who am I, Loran? What is my experience with Mormonism? How did I come to begin researching Mormonism? Do you see me taking sides on this board? If so, what are they? What issues do I feel strongly about? Do you even know?

If you can't answer those questions then I would encourage you to shut up and read a while before you label me. I assure you that I won't fit into whatever box you attempt to stuff me into.

Oh yes I did, quite clearly, and Wade understood it quite clearly and Wade understood that I understood it quite clearly, at least to the extent that LSD made a serious intelligible attempt to make it clear.

No, actually I read through the bulk of the posts first before responding. Then LSD began moving the goal posts. I do remember that quite well.

LSD didn't respond to me as if that were the case however (except when telling me to go back and read the posts, which, interestingly, she did to virtually each and every other poster, including Wade, who attempted to voice disagreement with her premises). What she did was equivocate and hedge on the definition of terms to the point that nobody could make head or tails of any of it at the end).

LSD refused steadfastly to define, clarify, and cogently construct a logically intelligable argument, and no matter how Wade and I tried to clarify it, in good faith by the way, there was no response from the other side. Only more foam and froth.

Now Jersey Girl, I've been following your posts now since the summer of 2005. I've got a pretty fair idea of what you think about the Church in general and some specific issues related to it. I see no reason why you should carry on this game of hide and seek with those who disagree with you and will challenge our claims about the church. You are not an unknown quantity even though you seem to think you've been very stealthy about your real motivations and beliefs (have you?)

If you'd like to lay out, in a cogent, approachable way, some of your core beliefs and perceptions, I'd be more than willing to listen and respond in a productive way (and if Scratch will keep his tenticles out of it, perhaps that thread will last longer than one or two pages).

I'm willing to put that ZLMB fracas behind me as well, for the sake of a more productive dialog.
