I think that Boyd should change his identity since he is mocking a GA. One can be funny but I am sure that it is not funny for the real Boyd. Likewise, it would not be funny for anyone here if some individual stole our identity and began to post under our known identity. Would it?

Sorry for being a party pooper but Boyd must go....he can change his name to: Dexter P. Peabody.

Unless this is the real Boyd. Personally this creeps me out too.

As mockworthy as BKP is, I agree. Kinda creeped me out, too.

To quote "Why Me" from another thread:
We just don't know, right?

I don't know maybe it is the real Boyd having a little internet fun. We just don't know, right?

I'm not too creeped out, but I have eyes in the back of my head. I am sore from laughing though.

I am not even sure what are the legal ramifications of such a thing. Can one portray oneself as a real character from real life? Well anyway, Boyd seems to have gone for now. Hopefully, he will come back as Dexter P. Peabody, comic extrordinare.

Legally speaking, there are two ways to look at this (I believe). One is that these posts are satiric, in which case, since BKP is a public figure, they are totally kosher. The other way to look at it is that this is really and truly Pres. Packer to whom we are speaking, in which case you had better be on your best behavior, Why Me, since BKP has been described as a "grizzly bear."

Mister Scratch's comment above reminds me of the Penthouse (or was it Hustler?) lampoon on Rev. Jerry Falwell. Falwell
sued the magazine for indicating that Falwell had lost his virginity with his mother, in an outhouse.

He lost. The price he had to pay for being a public figure in a society that values free speech.

I don't get the "creepy" thing. It was kind of funny to me to have Brother Packer come and visit us. He has been making the rounds on other boards, as well, along with some of his other brethren in the Quorum.

I guess you have to be out for a much longer time, perhaps. I, for one, welcome him here to the board.

It's ok to think about suing when your sensibilities are offended, but when your personal behavior is less than savory, all eyes had better turn the other way, right?

Welcome, BKP. Nice parodies.

That, young man, is between me and the Lord. I would like to share a little story with you. When I was a young Apostle, one of the Senior Apostles was being interviewed by a newspaper reporter. The reporter asked this humble servant of the Lord how much money he made, and if his salary came from tithing funds. The Apostle, through inspiration, refused to answer the question. The reporter asked the question again, and again the Apostle refused to answer. The reporter asked the question three more times before the Apostle raised his right hand to the square and commanded the reporter, in the name of the Lord, to depart from his presence.

The reporter scoffed at the apostle, but ultimately obeyed and walked away. As he attempted to cross the street, a bus ran him over and he died.

I don't tell this story to frighten you, but I offer it as warning, for that is the purpose of the Lord's servants.

I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Sincerely,

Boyd K. Packer
Acting President of the Quorum of the Twenve Apostles

This does not creep me out because for one thing I do not believe this is Boyd K. Packer.
Second thing is why would you all let words in a post creep you out?
Third thing why do you allow Mr. Boyd K. Packer such power over you?
Your Mormonism is showing big time I guess and seeing as how I have no Mormonism in me he has no power over me
So to you Boyd k. Packer Frak off and Die and stop pretending like you are someone you're not cause you are pissing me off.

And Freedom of Speech is everyones right whether we like it or not and whether we agree with what the person said.
Have a little fun with this Boyd person and stop taking him so seriously.
