In the OP, I stated that 2 particular words came to mind when I thought about what never-Mo's bring to the discussion table.

The words were:

Perspective and Objectivity

I don't think, though, that once one comes to learn various ins and outs of Mormonism and Mormon History that you can remain in a state of objectivity. Sooner or later, the big picture comes into play and I think it bears a reaction. I, myself, have been through various stages in my approach and views on Mormonism and the people who make up the Mormon community.

Some of the stages:

Skepticsm about certain critical claims
Major league OVER reaction to uncovering information
Passionate opposition to Mormon theology

Those are just some from the very beginning of my journey.

I think Perspective and Detachment would be better words. Anyone who thinks I'm objective obviously doesn't pay much attention, But I think I'm a tad more detached emotionally than say PP or Mercury who have much more "in your face" life experiences with Mormonism/Mormon culture/Mormon whatever, and are thus more passionate in their criticism.

Eww, I almost puked.

My sweet daughter will not have to pass through the turnstile in the Mormon font.

We told my TBM inlaws that their daughter(my wife) is out and that our daughter is not getting baptized.

My wife wore a sexy skirt and a tank top when we arrived at her parents hotel.

Nothing like non garment compliant clothes to break the ice!
