Some of my picks are already there. I would be remiss if I did not mention Koakaipo. Garden Girl and Katherine are both sweeties. Having Rhinomelon post would be a real coup.

There are many wonderful people over at MAD and it would be nice if they would post here. While I say that, I realize there would need to be a bit tighter moderating on this particular forum in order for that to happen. This could be Dodge and the Telestial Kingdom forum could be West of the Pecos. A Marshal is needed to clean up Dodge. Maybe Juliann could teach Bond the quick draw.

Yep, he's entertaining. About as worthless for valid information as DCP, slightly more angry, about equally incoherent, and just as easy to laugh at when he thinks he's saying something intelligent.

I'm seeing a trend among the Mormons here.

any and all posters over there should simply migrate over here. the celestial forum would give the tbm posters even greater freedom than they experience on FAIR's board and they'd be just as protected from attacks. I don't lurk too much over there, every couple of days I scan the board topics and skim through one if it looks interesting. the nibley one was the last one i looked at. i noticed as the thread progressed there some TBMs were debating Nibley's social views, which those who have read Nibley know define the man as much as anything else and a lot of his writing focuses on this with respect to the "gospel". But alas, the thread was shut down for being political. The participants apparently just bend over and take it, possibly agreeing with the mods that the Law of Consecration has nothing to do with the gospel - unlike, for instance, a hill named "cumorah" thousands of miles away from where Joseph Smith lived.

Let it be known that an anti-Mormon board welcomes civil discussion on Hugh Nibley's social views while the official board that defines LDS apologetics censors and represses these discussions.

I would love to see Cinepro and Mighty Curelom here. Cinepro is my absolute favorite poster on MAD.

From the TBM side, Katherine the Great and Stn9. Stn9 fully understands the religion he has embraced and doesn't shy away from the "meat."
Katherine is truly great and a rarity among the internet TBMs.

It would also be very interesting to have all the polygamy defending women over here in an unprotected setting. (too many names to list, but most of the TBM women on MAD seem quite comfortable (almost excited) with the future return of LDS plural marriage and Joseph Smith's history)

Moksha, do you think there is any likelihood that Bond or Liz or Shades will see this? What do you think their take on attracting more people would be?

Well, we try to keep the Celestial Kingdom squeeky clean (so it's the Dodge City church).....the Terrestial Kingdom is the General Store, where the off color jokes offend some people but there's that group of guys in the corner BSing that always laugh. The Telestial Kingdom is the Dodge City Barroom and Bordello. No comment.

But seriously isn't the Celestial Kingdom a good enough spot for the more scholarly and up end posters?

I think that the proposed participants would want to go where the action is, and that is here.

The immediate attraction for many would be the lack of capricious and heavy handed moderation as well as thread closures while the thread still has some legs. On the other hand, I think this forum should adopt the Beliefnet rules about no personal insults or ad hominem attacks. Those type of things as well as harder profanity and soft porn are best carried out in the Telestial forum. That would eliminate the disincentive for many to post here.

Yes, but then you have to decide what constitutes "harder profanity" and/or "soft porn". One person's definition is not another person's definition.
