Don't get me started about Utah. :)

I still laugh every time I hear the words, "Zion's Bank".

You know, it's been said (Sagan, maybe? I don't know, just heard it somewhere), that there are more planets in the universe that are exactly like this one than there are grains of sand on this planet.

We're not that special.

When did somethings worth start associating with size or position or uniqueness?

I just mean that for someone to think that Humans are God's chosen, and especially that idea that God was once a man, well, just look at our place in the universe. What about all those other places?

I do hate the word special though. For the life of me I can't figure out why we insist on telling kids they are special. Some of them end up believing it into their adult lives. Is anything more obnoxious than spending time with an adult that thinks they're special (almost always under delusions of grandeur).

Have to agree with you there, some people are w-a-a-a-a-y too self-centered from all that.

Filled with creations like us, perhaps for the same destiny, perhaps another. May look like us, may not. I probably shouldn't go much further on our physical likeness to God. I'm walking into areas I'm still figuring out and not areas where I can say much of value. I do think that while I am sure God has a body it is not a limiting factor.....and he could have more than one...and they don't have to look the same.

I think the worst thing we have to defend is why the Church commits resources to folks who rail against the Church with spittle dripping down their chins, but retain their membership and accept home teachers appointed by the Bishop to come and spend time with them.

It seems the Church should spend its PEF resources on computer geeks who have a hard time with literacy.

I would think there were many atrocities before that.....huh....you really should read more history. Unless you're suggesting that they called 911...in which case there is no hope for you.

Porter,

It's more than a little weird that you brought this up because I was thinking just last night (yes, I do think) along simliar lines so here's my question.

Which one of the above did Joseph Smith defend? Did he engage in any sort of public debate about those issues?

September eleventh is 911. Please do not make light of the slaughter.

Coming from the man who once started a post delighting in Joseph's death this means nothing to me.
