There is some Biblical evidence that God never really wanted a Temple in the first place. According to 2 Sam. 7:2, the Temple was actually King David's idea. He says to the prophet Nathan, "See now, I dwell in an house of cedar, but the ark of God dwelleth within curtains."

This curtain can be seen as the tabernacle Israel carried with them through their sojourn in the desert.

The measurements of the Holy Place in the Temple imply that this same tabernacle - this curtain containing the ark - dwelt within the Temple for a time during the history of Israel.

The Lord replies through the prophet:

2 Samuel 7:5 Go and tell my servant David, Thus saith the LORD, Shalt thou build me an house for me to dwell in?

6 Whereas I have not dwelt in any house since the time that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have walked in a tent and in a tabernacle.

7 In all the places wherein I have walked with all the children of Israel spake I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why build ye not me an house of cedar?

Is essense, He asks, "in all my time dwelling with you, have I ever asked you to build me a house?"

Despite God's apparent disapproval, He promises to allow David's son to build a Temple and to bless it.

God goes on to destroy the Temple - twice - when the people rely on their own work in the Temple more so than what it represents, the mercy of God.

Not only that, there even seems to be a sense of cosmic comedy in God saying to David, "You're going to build me a house???" (*cue deific laughter*).

You know, there are quite a few times in my life when I thought I'd heard laughing.

When I post over there, I generally think of it as going into a room with a bunch of two year olds. You have to watch your language and try not to upset too many, or you'll have a major temper tantrum on your hands.

You think that using the in real life name means you should be special treatment, and that others should have to bow down to you, and so on. Obviously, this MADrule baloney doesn't go both ways. Pahoran doles out all kinds of nastiness to Dan Vogel, Sethbag, CKSalmon, CaliforniaKid and others who employ their in real life names (I have seen Selek and Smac and others behave nastily, too), but are they ever chastised for their refusal to respect "dignity"? This is just yet another of the many MADite hypocrisies that sails right over your Neanderthal head.

Pahoran has been chastised in the past. I was chastised by a mod for being too hard on exmos in the past few months. Did you miss that? Unlike you, however, I copped the chastisement sweet. I didn't turn against the mods, or come here to squeal and whine like a cowardly pig, which is what you do. When the mods booted you from FAIR that was one the best decisions they ever made - totally justified by the subsequent revelation of your savage and unconscionable attacks on the character of others here. You should not talk about nastiness, because you live to see others who disagree with you denigrated. You are a foul and mean-spirited person.

Did you ever get banned for it? I've seen your work on this board and a model of restraint, intelligence and deep thinking you are not.

Again, have you ever been disciplined by being unable to post? I think not.

Face it Ray A., you and Charity are hypocrites.

It's very simple. FAIR and MAD had/has rules. I kept the rules, and if I was chastised I didn't turn on the board, or the mods. There are no rules here, or very few, and consistently applying rules is hard work - ask any mod.

While on FAIR/MAD I never posted a single swear word - because they have rules. Get it? You exercise self-restraint if you want to keep posting. Simple. A kindergarten child can understand this.

Yeah but it doesn't take swear words. All it takes is to go against the bretheren and you get slapped down. When a person who knows what they are talking about get on the board and gets the better of the apologists, they are marked.

You're right. The board is rigged and the Mormon apologists can't handle real facts. Yep, you're right. A kindergardener understands that.

We are humans with brain who can decide what kind of environment we want to live in. You want to tromp around in mud, that's your choice. The MA&D board is "our house." You want to visit, us in our house, you clean up or you can't come in.

This "house" is a different enviroment. You don't have worry about tracking mud in on the carpets here, so anyone can come in with dirty feet.

Well, arent we pigs? It's funny, you seem to like this place more than MADD, muddying your feet, trying to defend your holy God, who in the first place does not need you defending him. If he didn't like my thoughts he could zap me anytime he wished to. (I am sure you remember Korihor).
Charity, while courageous, you live in deep Cognitive Dissonant state. I think you see the reality but fight hard against it wishing things you believe were true.
Hanging around here will help you to see the light.

Really? Like my open disagreement with polygamy? Like my advocating alternative ideas on the Book of Mormon? Like my disagreement with some GA statements about gays? You can disagree without being disagreeable, or attacking the character of the GAs. Some of you don't see the difference.

Bob doesn't agree with you, nor do other Mormons who think MAD is too open to critics. They see it as undermining the Church. Even critics have said that MAD is the "best anti-Mormon" medium, because it allows discussions on subjects you'll never, ever see on other LDS boards! What do you want? Open slather?

And you know I always "pulled the party line"? I guess you've read all the posts I did between 2004 and 2007.

That is what I thought too, until I crossed the line of arguing "his intellectual highness, DCP, Phoran & Chronies".
The rules are on MADD board upheld until "The intellectual Midgets" cannot handle heavy dose of truth mixed with reality.
And that is exactly what happened Good K.
