Probably. If nothing else I'll no longer be expected to contribute to the indoctrination of children and she is free to find a better match.

Maybe she can be bcspace's plural wife in the next world.

You mean the bcspace who shows a distinct lack of empathy for the victims at MMM? The one who made fun of Mark's post after he mentioned the loss of a loved one?

Are we talking about the same guy?

I'm fairly certain you're taking those out of context, but I would agree that I am not always a gentleman.

I missed that about Mark's post. Maybe bc is on his best behavior when he knows I'm reading.

What I meant is that he doesn't resort to calling other posters liars or stupid or idiots, etc. Many apologists that come and go here resort to calling names whenever cornered. Bc just gracefully retires from the field without response. Given the side of the board that he represents, that is saying a lot.

Well, I hope it is better for you, man.

Have you seen Louis CK's latest stand up, Oh My God? If not, there's a great bit in there where he's talking about divorce (I couldn't really relate; I love my wife. But it was funny). It might make you feel even better about it all.

Heh. Left on bad terms, huh? I'm not sure I'd wish that on anyone. I imagine him making his wives compete in the free market of his "manhood" for a little sumpin, sumpin.

BC is like most apologists. I know. I was one. They defend to preserve their testimony. They know there is so many problems with the founding truth claims of the LDS church. So they defend away and as time goes on they will either lose their tetimony or delude themselves, along with other apoloigist all the while yucking it up and patting each other on the back, amd thus continue with a life of horrible cognitive dissonance. It is as simple as that.

Deep down BC knows it is not true. His specious defenses are his desperation to hold on.

And I understand. It is horrifically painful to accept truth when it overturns everything you have lived for and devoted your life too. I am still intwined in it.

Fair enough, I'll recant and just say that you are the least obnoxious apologist on this board. It's a very low bar, but if that makes you happier then I am happy.

I can see that. I wonder if bc, in those quiet moments just before the clock radio alarm goes off, doesn't realize that.

I think the most important thing I've learned during my time on this board is how difficult it is for TBMs to leave the Church. To abandon a lifetime of beliefs and go it alone because their love of truth overcomes their love of religion.

This is probably a poor analogy. My mother-in-law has a parrot (very intelligent) that has lived his entire life in a cage (it breaks my heart, but I would never tell my MIL that). If you take him out of the cage and put him on the perch that is on top of it, he will immediately climb down and go back into the safety of his cage.

For him, freedom is scary and the cage is safe.

for what it's worth... I miss Simon Belmont. An ass to be sure, but he was riveting once he was cornered. Consig is an astute liar that likes to paint the picture that he's somehow sincere.. a ruse. bcspace is the coward who retreats from threads once cornered, as is ldsfaqs, but that's because it's all they have... lies. The biggest psychopath has got to be Daniel C Peterson, who chose to tuck tail and flee when confronted with backing up his manufactured claims. It's either true or it it's not true, and if you claim it's true, then back it up without tucking tail.

So angry! This is, after all, just a discussion board. Our lives only touch in this strange electronic dimension. It's not worth wasting emotions over.

I suspect that Simon is still with us, only reincarnated as some other avatar. That's what is interesting about discussion boards. It's probably the only place that we can die and reincarnate for sure.

Have you always been thews?
