Six Days in August D.O.A.?

To a naïve person like myself, August would seem like the obvious time for release. I'm not sure what makes me think that

If released in August, I think they were afraid that it would only run for six days.

Six Days in August is scheduled for more than ninety theaters in Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Arizona, California, Texas, Oregon,Washington, Ohio, Alaska, Florida, Hawaii, Kansas, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, and Canada. And more theaters are slated to open on 18 October.

I looked up the 3 cinemark locations located in Texas. There are currently 2 people who have bought tickets. Out of several dozen screenings across the next week. That’s at least a couple thousand empty seats viewing Daniel’s film in one state alone.

Perhaps there will be a larger walk-up audience.

That seems to be the plan. Most theaters are putting it in a small house, or if it was in the big house at the beginning of the day, it’s moved to the small house for the last round.

I’ve also noticed that a lot of locations have 4 shows for the first day, then quickly move to only one show a day after that.

Not the most auspicious launch, I have to say.
