I disagree in this case. It’s a fact that Nelson led the Church in operating a complex, decades long, deliberate financial fraud that resulted in a serious loss of millions of dollars of Church funds. It wasn’t a mistake. It would have continued for many decades more had the authorities not stepped in to investigate after a whistle blower had highlighted the problem. That should be sufficient for a moral person to resign, or for a moral organisation to remove that leader. Or for one led by God.IWMP wrote: ↑Sat May 03, 2025 9:41 pmThat makes sense. I guess it's one of those things that can be taken either way.I Have Questions wrote: ↑Sat May 03, 2025 6:17 pmNot if you’re resigning because you brought the position into disrepute. In fact if Nelson were to resign over the fraud, it would actually be a point in favour of a Prophet being a real thing. No need to resign if Nelson knows there’s not really a God there
It’s a clear indication that God is not involved. For you’d have to conclude He’s happy for a set of known fraudsters lead His Church, to think He is involved.
