Do you honestly like to pretend being so thick MG? Seriously?
Hi Philo, hope things are well with you. Rural Idaho, right? Deep stuff, right?

If so, why pregnant women and those that were physically less attractive?
Why not?

When looked at in the whole it is difficult to believe that Joseph engaged in all the secrecy, which you have documented, simply to have sex with multiple women. And to boot, quite a few of these women were pregnant at the time of marriages/sealings and/or they were older and as would be said at the time. "Less than comely".
MG is right. It's difficult to believe that any man would ever lie or engage in secrecy to have sex with multiple women.

It's also difficult to believe that everybody poops.
I think it is a matter of acceptance among critics that Joseph was after gorgeous young women. The evidence seems to show that this wasn't always the case. In fact, if I remember correctly the first few women sealed to him were actually noticeably pregnant. Others were not considered to be 'comely'.

MG

1. less attractive to whom? there's a whole world out there ...But no misogyny here, right?
2. never in the history of mankind has anyone ever done anything unexpected, or out of character, intended to deflect suspicion

I see that MG posted just as I was about to make this comment. However, I think I've adequately addressed the "gorgeous young women" part of his comment.

I think it's a given. Why was Joseph after pregnant and women that were less than physically attractive? Also, why marry women that were already married and they continued to live with their husband?

I'll leave my comments 'on the table'. Something to consider.

Again, critics make a LOY of hay around polygamy. But here, as in other places...lots of moving parts. Critics would like us to focus on a small part of the picture.

No critics say that. It's definitely not a given.

Why wouldn't Joseph want sex with women whom you consider to have been "less physically attractive"? Why would he not want sex with a pregnant women?

This doesn't make sense.
