Also, for the lurkers note the 'slave' head is noticeably smaller than the other figures' heads. This makes sense given Shulem's discovery.

Your observation deserves serious attention. This may very well be a bullseye and if so you've got a feather in your cap, Doctor CamNC4Me! Congratulations in advance.
The discussion in this whole matter is still in the early stages and everyone of consequence (Gee, Muhlestein, etc) have yet to weigh in on this particular point of interest which requires expert advice -- admittedly so, their judgment would be welcomed and appreciated. Both men are experts, qualified Egyptologists. I would welcome and value anything they might add regarding the head of Anubis on the printing plate.

Truth be told, if Anubis in Facsimile No. 3 is really Anubis as written in the writing above his head, then you can be sure he's definitely anti-Mormon. What the LDS church has done to Anubis in Facsimile No. 3 is utterly shameful. What can I do to pay the church back for this treachery? If one of those talented Egyptian sculptors had made the wood cutting perhaps Anubis world have fared better. Imagine if one of the later Greek sculptors had tackled that wood cutting? Anubis may have been all squiggly on a panel of stiffs.
Did you ever think that Anubis may have preferred being incognito when portrayed as a slave? On the other hand, they could have left him with a jackal head but colored him pure, delightsome, and free.

Only an expert craftsman could give us a good evaluation on what caused those cracks. You'd think that apologists would want to know but maybe they don't. Clearly the head does NOT have a human ear and neither is there space to include a human ear next to that gorgeous jackal eye. In the past, apologists have noted that it's perfectly fine to have a human head atop the Anubis figure in Facsimile No. 1 and have accepted Joseph Smith's short work of the lucana. They claim a human head fits the bill. But we see that Anubis in Facsimile No. 3 poses a whole new problem for the apologists. It poses a whole new problem for the church in maintaining a claim that Joseph Smith knew how to translate Egyptian through revelation. Well, we can see from the Explanations given by Joseph Smith that his translations given by revelation are false and his depiction of Anubis is deplorable. The Mormons have truly produced a work of shame. I defy them to refute that. Mormonism and lying go hand in hand.

A barperson asks Shulem what he will have. Shulem says he wants an answer as to whether a woodcutting from one of the Book of Abraham facsimiles was originally Anubis.
The barperson then asks Dr. Peterson what he wants. He orders a snifter of Mr. Pibb and a platter of cookies. Before leaving the barperson asks if there would be anything else.
