Gad, much appreciated effort. If like 3 people would just knock off the petty name calling and finger pointing, it would sure be appreciated. They know who they are. Grow up, please.
Given advancements in sock puppetry, it might be even less. But yes, I join you in noting Gad’s effort is much appreciated.

A-Mike isn't banned, but I admit the controls are a little weird. I tested access from perspective of his user and it shows posting ability. He should clear cookies and cache etc., or try from a different browser.
Yeah, not sure if you have noticed yet but A-Mike is posting.

To add a little more information, I forget that some people are new to the forum since it was spun up, so a quick history: The old board, Mormondiscussions, was dying, and Shades unfortunately was bound to a horrible hosting/forum provider who was letting the forum die with no viable way to fix the problems; also, he's not technical. So he got into a better arrangement and I installed the board and set it up. Because I setup the board, I have default god mode (under another account), but I've never had an interest in moderating; the agreement was it's Shades' board to set the rules, make the forums, and moderate, and I support with the tech stuff. The general community opinion also matters a huge amount, as community donated money to get it going.
I didn't know any of this. Thanks for the information - Thanks for setting this board up - Thanks to all who contributed to make it happen.
I'm not really into red pen and warnings and all that stuff. It's super easy not to say "F" or "S" or variations thereof, or to directly call other forum members names, or avoid pornographic speech and so on, and so I'll just edit out what I see, then delete if that don't work, then ban; no drama, warnings, debates, or trash talk.
Sounds great - I won't keep you because I think you might have some more work to do because before I started typing this I noticed a reference of unwanted rear end sexual activity in this thread - so good luck with that! :)

Again, because maybe I wasn't clear or not everybody can read: Paradise is still the wild west until further notice. If name calling is happening in Paradise then either set the example or have at it; I guess it's your choice for now.

Whatever happens with Paradise, I'm absolutely sure it's going to include a lot of arguing over which insults are okay and which aren't, what constitutes a personal attack and what doesn't, who has done the most attacking and who is innocent, and it might take a lawyer, so Res might be the only person qualified.

In a world of street justice, Cam's right to start your name with a 'Q' was purchased by allowing you calling Res an idiot.

Imagine if you could nuance your trolling such that you eliminate all direct attacks, and figure out ways to get under the other person's skin by posting within the rules; and then let the other person be the one to flounder and melt down. Your objective so far with the forum seems to have settled with tone trolling; there are successful tone trolls out there, but it's usually a really frustrating occupation for people with a history of directly attacking other people or calling names.

See how the above makes no sense? That's Paradise. To the tune of at least two thousand posts.

ETA: Make that approximately 2K posts.

Dean,
It’s all become a childish display of blatant rule violation.
I would be happy to help moderate, but not enthusiastically and it won’t be editing posts or handing out warnings. My model would be more like Satan. I’ll check once every few days. Any rule violations I find will result in a 24h ban for the offender. 3 strikes and the account is banned for life. Folks who won’t follow the posted rules on their own should not be on the board. Also you don’t want to make me a moderator.

ha, yeah. Well, ultimately a long-term moderating model will be something Shades endorses. For many years his system has worked and I think it's just some bad interaction of events right now.

I don't have a problem giving people lots of chances if it can be done without too much work.

For political discussions these days you almost have to give people some extra chances.
