This is a good example of Mental’s trolling. He routinely ignores questions, pulls at threads to unravel ongoing discussions, and virtually always makes a thread about himself when he baits posters into responding to him through insults, passive aggressive behavior, or evangelizing.
Exactly.

So in character. Lemmie, Doc, and Jersey. The predictable trio.

Derail, good Doc? You want to keep this a tribute to Grindael, right? You can move it back in the direction you would like. I simply came in for the reasons I mentioned in my original post. As in times past and as per many other threads, I am willing to exit this thread whenever you’re done with your shenanigans.

Time to get back on topic?

Regards,
MG

Blah, blah, blah. Been here before, haven’t we Doc? I think others can see what you’re up to here. And you’re wasting my time and the time of others. Typical.

Done yet? Please?

Such a waste of time. Please go away.

MG

When I left the church, I was extremely busy and overwhelmed with real life, so I let the Mormon topics go. However, I was raised and fully indoctrinated into this religion, so when I found this forum about 7 years ago, I was naturally fascinated by the research on Mormon topics.

Grindael was especially fascinating to read, because not only did he report on his findings, but he posted real-time fascinating expositions on his process and method, live discussions of his discoveries in various archives, and conversations he brought here with other historians. He re-awakened in me an appreciation for the history of my youth.

His self-portrait, posted before on this board:

ETA: I see while I was posting this, doc cam posted the same self-portrait! So happy to see appreciation for our friend.

Here are the creative works authored by grin that I transferred to the new archives. While you all were appreciating his Mormon related work, I was drinking in his lyricism. I needed to transfer the work quickly in case the old board became too corrupted to locate them so I transferred as top priority. Each transferred thread contains grin's avatar and all of his imagery and ends with my favorite image of grindael. There's a fourth thread that remains unfinished but only because I needed permission from someone else about a certain issue which took a while for me to get and then, I guess, the pandemic took my attention.

viewtopic.php?f=9&t=9&start=50
viewtopic.php?f=9&t=12
viewtopic.php?f=9&t=8

I'll end this post the way I ended all of the above transfers.

Why am I not surprised Mental saw a ‘Tribute to Grindael’ thread and decided to start trolling? Hopefully one of the new mods can take the time to split off these asides from Mental and Ceeboo so the thread can be preserved in a way that honors Grindael’s memory.

- Doc
I know they're fulfilling every claim that was previously made. Not to worry, if a split takes place, it won't take long. Even quicker if Gad does the split. I'm secretly hoping he'll take a permanent mod position.
Doc - You hope the new mods will take the time to split off these asides from "Mental and Ceeboo?" Like just us two? So you see this 36 page "tribute" as being dishonored by these two people? Do I have that right?

Jersey Girl - I assume that when you replied to Cam with "I know they're fulfilling every claim that was previously made", that you're talking about me and MG? If so, I have no idea what you're trying to say. Could you clarify for me?

Ceeboo,

I’d hope the mods delete or split off the thread on page 31, starting at Mental’s nonsense.

eta: Also, nuke the other derails started by others.

Cool - Thanks for the clarity.

for what it's worth, I think the nonsense started on page one - post one - and has continued for 36 pages now - But yeah, with your eta in mind ("nuke the other derails started by others") I can agree with you there and try to make an actual tribute to Grindael out of this mess.

I see Ceeboo has decided to stick with derailing this thread. I don’t believe he’s read one thing about Grindael on this thread:

ANYWAY.

BACK TO THE TOPIC.

For this of you that’d enjoy a masterful takedown of Brian Hales’ nonsense I highly recommend reading this from Grindael:

https://mormonitemusings.wordpress.com/ ... my-part-3/

He demonstrates how disingenuous Hales is, and artfully points out where Hales lies about Runnells, omits relevant information, and makes assertions up out of whole cloth. Mopologists are garbage.

Why don't we make this MG character a mod? Oh wait is this the wrong thread?
