The King Follet Discource specifically states that the Father was once a man as Christ was once a man.

Second, the KFD is not "doctrine", scripture, or revelation to the Church. It was Joseph's personal inspiration and revelation. We ALL how are faithful tend to have the same personal revelation. But, it's not doctrine.

Third, most references to the KFD in LDS literature is in reference to other issues, not that the Father was once a man, and if it does address it, it's simply addressing a teaching, not that it's doctrine. Even though yes, I know and can see "some" have called it doctrine.

Sorry, but personal opinions have never made doctrine of the Church. I've told you guys the actual doctrine of the Church related to this issue. Accept it or not. But the sin be upon you for not believing our words. We know our religion, YOU ALL do not. You just think you do.... I know because I've been there. I've had your arrogance and elitism toward the Church and religion itself. You're not impressive in your lazy intellectual degredations.

Dear Obiwan:

Since you have provided absolutely nothing to support your assertion about what you think constitutes LDS doctrine, will you at least answer this question:

Why should we believe your say-so over President Hinckley as to whether the King Follett Sermon is church doctrine?

Gordon B. Hinckley
September 1994 Ensign

In March of the year he died—1844—the Prophet had amplified this doctrine in a monumental address which he delivered in the grove which was just below the temple site. The text of that address has become an important doctrinal document in the theology of the Church. It is known as the King Follett Sermon.

I speculate that O is working things out and any criticisms of the church will feel like what little he has is being threatened.

I have reached out to O to help him, to listen and I hope others here do the same.

Was this a Freudian slip?

As I have been thinking about this over the weekend, Lehi's Dream of the Tree of Life came to mind.

If President Hinckley is avoiding the question to keep people in the great and spacious building from mocking him, is he still at the tree of life?

All the Best!

LOL

We have cited what the church has taught, currently teaches and will no doubt in the future continue teaching that 'God was once as man'.

You, have spouted your internet opinion and nothing more.

This is all true. That doesn't mean the pertinent elements of the KFD haven't been taught for generations as if they were doctrine.

Too bad our leaders haven't figured this out.

This was total horse crap for doing this. You need to take this off the forum.

If O objects, I will happily delete the entry. I just wanted him to know that he has friends here.
