They are not being protected from Pundits who are critics. Vogel often makes an appearance in Pundit too. If protection was the issue then why would they throw Stewart into the lion's den with The Dude? The one on one flogging would be worse than if he posted his ideas in the main forum and then did a runner. He could use the crowd as "cover". There's no where to run in Pundit, especially if it's one on one, and every registered poster on the board can see the humiliation of one or the other.

As Shades and others have pointed out, it is far more difficult for other critics (e.g., us here) to view the Pundits forum. If Stewart were to slip up in disastrous fashion, there would be less of a likelihood of observers such as myself reporting it here.

I disagree. Stewart was getting hammered pretty badly in the regular forum, and it was obvious. That's why it was moved to Pundits. Likewise with the recent juliann/Beastie debate. Moreover, as has already been said, Pundits exists to try and hide information from critics, such as myself, Dr. Shades, and Kevin Graham.

All of the critics on the board can see Pundit, and they can start threads in the main forum commenting as critically as they want. I know you're probably talking about your own banning, and several from here, but you missed nothing. By the time you got banned again the debate was all but over, which kind of kills your theory. Incidentally, I don't agree with your banning. I hardly think you're a disruptive poster, though the issue was over sockpuppets.

Stewart did three posts in LDS Dialogue and Discussion, and he got "hammered" by LDS posters as well. He did a total of 13 posts.

Sock puppets supposedly undermine the mods ability to control the board. Their presence shows that the registration process has been circumvented by one or more enemies; the board has been infiltrated by subversives. It's the whole siege mentality. And the mods are reacting predictably. You just got caught in the cross fire (and I suspect your posting their thread here caused them quite a bit of indigestion).

But by copying and pasting so many posts from MAD to here, that is what may have irked them. But again, I'm only speculating as I'm not a mind-reader.

I don't see myself as being caught in the cross fire as much as caught in the muddy waters of their inability to think. As for control of the board goes, I still have the ability to view it, copy and transfer posts as I did just recently.
You hit the nail on the head though about control issues, harmony.

Yes... which is why it got moved to the Pundits Forum. The mods work very hard to protect certain posters.
