Well, Sput has no right to declare Z off topic since that was the topic of my statement he quoted in his OP.
And yes, your summary of my view of the situation is fairly accurate, with addition of the fact that I do not believe the strict moderation at MAD is applied even handedly. Certainly believers are censored, but their behavior has to be pretty egregious. Then you have posters like Truth Dancer, who despite their current claims otherwise, was banned for no legitimate reason whatsoever, and others like Moksha, who, albeit sometimes a critic, is a gentle fellow who hardly went out of his way to offend. You have Jersey Girl who was banned despite the fact she hadn't posted at MAD for, If I recall correctly, over a month at the time of her banning. Yes, you see someone like Hammer getting in trouble now and then, but these are truly obvious cases of misbehavior.
I've stated several times that MAD owners have every right to run the board as they want. I'm not contesting that, or even complaining about how it is run. I am making observations and speculations about why so many LDS believers wanted a place like FAIR instead of Z in the first place.
And yes, Z is dead now, and has been for some time. I've given up on the place.

We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

Re: Sput's new MAD thread
Yes, you have accurately portrayed how ZLMB died. As KG wrote, it was once an excellent MB,Alter Idem wrote:Sput stated he did not want us discussing ZLMB on his thread, so I thought I'd ask my questions here;
Beastie, I did not realize you had been a mod on ZLMB. I was never a participant there, but I've read some comments regarding it. It sounds like ZLMB used to be the place that quite of few of you hung out on, but then there was a mass exodus over to FAIR. I get the impression that you believe Juliann was the instigator of this exodus. I also assume that ZLMB never recovered and then, when you all tried to continue discussions as had been done on ZLMB, at FAIR, things were run differently, with much stricter moderation and many critics ended up being banned. If this is the case, I'm beginning to understand why there is so much animosity directed at the FAIR crowd of LDS posters.
I've visited ZLMB a couple of times, but not much is going on there. If it had been a thriving board at one time, it isn't now.

by the way,
Serious question - does anyone know how old Sput is? I'm beginning to suspect I may be debating a fourteen year old, which would be embarrassing. I guess that's always one risk of internet boards.

I appreciate that you'd come here to ask questions. In her post to you, beastie states accurately that I was banned from FAIR one month after I chose to stop posting there.
Jersey Girl
There were a few of you who were banned at the same time, surprizingly, not for board violations, but possibly as a way to "clean house" once FAIR underwent a management change.
I'm not sure what explanation they would give for their actions--as far as I know, they've never offered any.

By the noise to signal ratio on the thread, I dare say we will never get a straight answer from most of the believers posting there about the real topic.
Sput, how old are you?

I would say "Sput" is probably in his late twenties to early thirties. He's stated that he was out of the church for 14 years, 8 of which while married. He came back to the church maybe a year ago. He's also mentioned that he serves as Elders Quorum Pres. I think he is quite familiar with this board--probably monitoring it for some months, so he is familiar with the posters here. You guys would have a better idea than me if he's been posting here.

Thanks for the answer, Alter. That's all I wanted to know.
