Ok, I'll try to explain this in simple terms so as not to confuse you, Gaz...
There is not enough water on the planet in to completely submerge all of the Earth's landmass. Even if you dumped out every underground source, melted the icecaps and every glacier, you would not have enough water to flood the entire Earth.
Mr Coffee, you need to read my .sig line below. It explains it all. ;-)
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

No it doesn't.
If that's the case it just went back underground.
Given the hydro-mechanics of a global flooding, that would not be likely, and very probably impossible.

You edited out the part where I stated that this was in conjunction with the rain.
Heres the scripture reference for the underground water: Gen 7:11, 8:2

Guess you didn't comprehend it when I said THERE IS NOT ENOUGH WATER ON THE EARTH TO SUBMERGE ALL OF THE PLANET'S LAND MASS. Doesn't matter if in order to was raining or not. The volume of water needed does not exist. Full stop, end of story.
Jesus Christ on a pimped out purple pogostick... Gaz, fill out a FAFSA and go learn some basic science.
1 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged;
2 The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;
3 And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated.

Did you completely fail basic high school level science? I'll say this again. NOT ENOUGH WATER ON THE PLANET EARTH TO SUBMERGE ALL THE FRIGGIN LAND! All you've done is use the Bible to prove the Bible, Gaz. You haven't shown any evidence that supports a global flood as depicted in the Bible, all you've done is regurgitate Bible verses at me.

Gaz...not every Mormon takes what's written in the scriptures literally. A lot of what's there is figurative, or written from the author's perspective of his world. There is ample evidence for localized flooding events. There is absolutely no evidence, besides your interpretation of an ancient text, that a worldwide flood occurred. In fact, most Mormons with whom I have discussed this, accept it as a localized event. Young-earth creationists are among the few who take the worldwide flood literally. Many of them still think the earth is flat. Duane Jeffrey wrote a great article about this in Sunstone a few years ago. He is a BYU professor and active member of the LDS church. Let me know if you'd like a copy.
