WTF??? If the sisters were masturbating right there in zone conference, I bet it wasn't boring!

I imagine that any information regarding Giant Pandas was simply too sacred to mention. It is best to stick with the sisters doing what they can to make it through zone conference.

I think your MP was wacky. Masturbation stats???? How many sisters did it? Holy crap!!!

He was at times but I still think he was a very good man. Remember I haven't told you everything I know about him. Then again, I don't know everything.

The fact was that masturbation was a constant question at the MTC. It was constantly talked about at all youth firesides, standards nights, etc. It was not just this MP that liked to talk about it.

Remember Christ walking on water? Changing water to wine, healing, resurrecting the dead? that's excercising control over temporal things.

We have been granted the ability and desire to create life. The bounds that have been placed on that power is that it is only to be used withen the confines of the marriage covenant. Sexual relations in the marriage covenant are righteous and wholesome and exalting, especially due to the fact that they are emulating God in creating and nurturing life and dealing with the outcome of their actions in a righteous manner.

Sexual relations outside of these boundries are damaging in many ways, and represent irresponsibility and an inability to overcome temporal matter.

So, Gaz, are you equating the "normal" human ability to spawn children to a miracle? Let me remind you that every insect, mammal, reptile and fish has that same ability.

And how do you justfy the problems that sterility pose? Say for example. . . myself? Because I'm incapable of reproduction, I'm not worthy of God's "miracle" (that he gave to every creature on earth)?

We are here to show that we can overcome base temporal temptations and show that we can live a higher law and live a godlike culture. Creating life is only one way to do that. If your incapable and/or sterile then that's a lesson you don't have to learn. You can always adopt and learn the nurturing lesson that way. I don't see it as a worthiness issue. Everyone has their lesson to learn, apparently youve been chosen for a special lesson.

I would say that creating life is a miricle. whether its us having kids, or insects, its fulfilling the measure of our creation. Joseph Smith stated that anythign that has sence enough to move when you put your finger next to it will be resurrected. Will insects and animals be exalted to create future life after their own image? I don't know, but perhaps they are preparing for an exaltation also.

Okay, I thought I'd let this die... but I couldn't.

I have to mention a few things and would like some feedback. Either I've all of a sudden become a complete prude or I've finally gotten to the point where I don't want to throw up in my mouth a little bit every time I see a sexual innuendo tied in with CHURCH!!!!!!!!!

I can't count the number of times on MAD and here that men mention the HOT women at Church. There's a thread on MAD right now asking why men converted and where the men are saying it's for the hot women. O.... K..... I know it's probably tongue in cheek... but it's just odd. I mean, I've NEVER heard of anyone saying anything like that. Now, undoubtedly some creepy guy that I would probably try to not make eye contact with (you know the ones ladies, that stare at your breasts and gaze at you from across the room) may THINK such a thing... but to say it and be congratulated by the thought and egged on seems strange to me. WHY does this seem strange to me? Because I see that LDS want to live by some strict moral code and seem to think of intimacy as something sacred. HELLO?

Same thing with the constant innuendos with polygamy? Are people not getting laid enough? Too much missionary style that being with a few different frumpy housewives every night sounds enticing? WHAT? And for women (someone else, sorry I can't recall right now your moniker) mentioned that women that are all for polygamy probably don't enjoy sex too much anyway. THAT makes sense to me.

For all the talk of LDS being so prudish... ya'll really are not.

It reminds me of my step-son. He comes here and types "vagena", "butt", and "boob" into a search engine. Writes "SEX!!" on every page of my daughter’s journal. Watches a few minutes of a soft porno movie (didn't happen on my watch) then becomes physically ill. Hello? Obviously he wants to explore sex but it is taboo. Good grief. This just doesn't seem right.

Am I waaaay off here?

Oh and I just have to mention this. There is ALWAYS talk of how LDS men are so superior to non-LDS men, and treat women with such respect. I can't say from the talk on either one of those boards that this is in ANY way the case from what I've observed.

Most of the dudes I've ever known who used this whole "we respect women" are just very subtle about their sexism. They're the dudes who call their secretaries "sweetheart" and "dear" rather than their name. You know those dudes right?

This is bogus. I'm not sure who told you this, but quite frankly, they were wrong. LDS men do not respect women any more or any less than any other man.

I've just seen it on the MAD boards. I've actually seen someone mention how "other guys" talk about women and how we'd be shocked if we knew what non-LDS men actually thought of women. I don't believe I'd be shocked at all.

I'd rather hear a 19 year old horny heathen kid blathering about it then some 50 year old holier than thou dude on a message board. Bleech.

I think there the church has some teachings that are very harmful to marriages and the sexual aspect of life.

Take polygamy... I have a sense that many LDS men are chomping at the bit. They hold in their minds that there will be a time where they can have sex with many wives, have a harem, life the "dream" of a powerful God with his females surrounding him. I think this idea thwarts the love and intimacy and care for one's wife. I get the sense from some LDS guys that they have to suffer for this life with only one woman but as soon as they die, the real form of Patriarchy... the Godly form will begin.

My observation is that there are many great non-LDS men who love their wives and for whom the idea of polygamy is truly sickening.

Conversely, women who hold the idea that in the next life they will be one of many polygamous wives do not seem to find that amazing bond and intimacy that can occur between a man and woman. I'm not sure if those women who like the idea of polygamy have just twarted their innate desire for sex and intimacy because of their "reality" that they will live an eternity being just another wife among a harem, OR if they truly just do not care much for sex and intimacy, and therefore find the idea of one's husband sleeping with other women a good thing.

Either way, I think the very teaching of polygamy is very harmful to marriages, and sexual and emotional intimacy.

Ohh also, if I had young children who were to be interviewed alone by men in the church, I would very clearly and strongly state that under no circumstances would they be allowed to be interviewed without a parent present, and under no circumstances would there be any discussion of anything of a sexual nature.
