You have given me considerable reason over the years to think you are incapable of understanding my point of view, and this spite of your absurd insinuations that you know better than me what I think and mean. Such is the nature of a sopalistic mind (I.e. one that is closed to opposing points of view). As such, I am quite confident that you would have reacted the same regardless of what I may have said. So, I see no reason to have wasted both our time trying.

Well, do it for the lurkers, Wade. Point out to them what is so "vile" about Runtu's observations.

by the way, would it be "vile" for someone to call LDS lazy, complacent, and unwilling to sacrifice?
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

I'm sorry Wade thinks my sentiments were vile. A couple of you noted correctly that the post reflects a more sad and melancholy mourning for the innocent view of the church I once had. I purposely put it in the Telestial Forum because I thought that, unintended as they were, my thoughts might offend some. It appears I was right.

Again, apologies for the offense. I was just thinking aloud and thought others might appreciate what I was thinking.

Apology accepted. I do hope, though, that your melancholy mournings will become less frequent and supplanted with kindness and loving peace like what I am more accustomed to hearing from you.

Thanks, -Wade Englund-

That some took offense is their problem, not yours. Some take offense at the oddest things, like a mother discreetly breastfeeding her baby in public. You cannot worry about those who take offense; worry instead about giving offense, something you rarely do.

I think I knew that my last couple of sentences were offensive, so in that sense I gave offense. I have my moments of bitter sarcasm, unfortunately. It's passing, but coming back here to Utah sort of stirred up a lot of old feelings.

Runtu,

I am in Utah county and have learned quite the bag of tricks for dealing with the Mormon contingency quirks around here. In fact, there are a growing number of disaffected/post Mormons who meet quite regularly. It helps to have access to a support group, if you would ever like to meet up.

PM me if you are ever interested.

Now to go answer the door. Watchtower is canvassing the neighborhood this morning, those brave souls.

Well, in that case, Wade should be offended with me rather than you. It was MY call to move the thread to the Terrestrial Forum. I thought that your thoughts deserved a wider audience, and that your post was a springboard for useful conversation.

(Of course, if you, Runtu, as the starter of the thread, would like it moved back to the Telestial Forum, I will be more than likely to do it. However, I honestly think it "fits" better here.)
