That advice was very applicable to Sunday's Priesthood lesson in which President Spencer W. Kimball was quoted as saying, that those who do not choose to marry are just not normal. The single and divorced men in the audience were well aware of what you are saying about these mundane thoughts not being assigned the weight of "spoken by a Prophet".

But, c'est la vie, it's all over as of yesterday. We "broke up"...as much as 2 people that aren't actually dating can break up...

I think I could handle going to meetings, but the tithing and garments are the 2 things that I just don't think I could do. I would have to vomit a little in my mouth every month when I made that check out.

Bummer.

You and I must think alike, as I told my wife that the two non-negotiable things were tithing and garments, on principle.

I do love my boxers. And the $600/mo extra I don't have to pay the church!!

I wonder if I could actually get a TR without paying tithing?? Just tell the bish that I pay it all at the end of the year? And just keep moving wards each year? We'll see how well the powers of perception work.

Yeah, I've been garmie free for about 14 months now, and loving it. It was sometime near the end of June of last year. I bought some briefs, took the garmies off and wore the briefs, and never looked back. Then I bought a bunch of boxers at Costco and took the briefs off, put the boxers on, and never looked back. ;-)

Yeah, you probably could, but why would you want to?

You could probably train yourself not to mind the pain of stabbing yourself in the eye with a fork, eventually, but that wouldn't make it a good idea.
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

Why do you need to replace garments with anything? My boys are loving their newfound freedom.
