Chicken or the egg? Are the depressed drawn to Mormonism? Or does Mormonism depress its adherents? Of course, there's a third possibility: Mormon missionaries are taught to prey upon the weak and afflicted, including the depressed.

Or all of the above. This does bring up a point about convert baptisms though. Any bic Mormon who waits until 9 to be baptized is considered a convert baptism, meaning missionaries also have an incentive to go after children.

Does this graph show that the overall depression/mental illness trends are going up nation wide while Utah is dropping? There seems to be a cross over in the middle of 2023.

Maybe Doctor Steuss can tell us if Utah is on a positive downward trend in the reporting of mental illness/depression while the United States composite score is moving upward.

Earlier I posted some information that seems to be telling us that Utah might be on the forefront of making efforts to alleviate the problem of mental illness.

This site has some good information to add to the knowledge base of discussion.
