Shades would be awfully cruel to tag you as moderator if you did have an interest.
Double entendre.

Shoot! Hopefully rhe new moderator team don't get notified for my derail.

And yes, I'm sure you'd be inundated with crap. Shades would be awfully cruel to tag you as moderator if you did have an interest.
 you're safe from me, stem. One-offs, or even side conversations really aren't what the rule is about, at least in my opinion. Personally, I haven't reported anything either for a very long time, except for the repeated 'wish you were dead' comments. To me they were just a bit too horrifically close to.. um.. breaking the rule about disinviting.

No, it's the repeated derailments with intent to disrupt that are the problem. IHAQ's original comment about that poster was spot on.

Circling back around to the topic …

If anyone is curious about the impact Grindael had on the topic of Mormonism outside of the old board look at this Patheos article:

https://www.patheos.com/blogs/faithprom ... y-part-ii/

The Anthon Transcript: Fulfillment of Prophecy, Reformed Egyptian, and the Evolution of a Story, Part II

An excerpt:
Recent research on the Community of Christ document has shed considerable light on its origin and background. We now know that the document is not the transcript taken to Professor Anthon by Harris, but is a later copy of Book of Mormon characters made by either Christian or John Whitmer. Based on a photo discovered by Johnny Stephenson in the Clay County Museum the document is actually a fragment of what had been a larger document containing a line from the Joseph Smith translation of Genesis.
An incredibly in depth and well-written article that used four, FOUR!, references to Grindael’s research. I really recommend folks conduct a google search:

https://www.google.com/search?q=Johnny+ ... e&ie=UTF-8

And poke around a bit. It’s turning up some real gems.

I enjoyed Grindael's posting and comradery. He had me review a transcript he drafted. Amazing amount of work.

FYI, all MG can do is derail. He's a cancer on DiscussMormonism.com.

I could never be a moderator because the first thing I would do is ban MG.

I know MG in real life. He's as douchey in real life as he is online.
Man up, Mr. Wang. PM me and tell me who you are…and that way I can determine whether or not I know you in real life as well as you say that you know me.

Folks want to get this thread back on track. I understand. But where you said what you said HERE, this is the place where I’m asking you to PM me and sort this out. Otherwise I have no recourse but to call you out as a liar.

And at this point there isn’t any ‘good’ that could be done through moderators. I realize I’m on my own to try and make this right. Lemming will appreciate it too. 🙂

Please make it right?

That way you can sleep when the wind blows. 👍

For Christ sake man!! Don't you realize this is a tribute to Grindael??? Just go back and read the opening post if you don't understand. Lem talks about me and cultellus in the very first sentence. Then she complains about shades. Then in the second paragraph she reminds everyone how Shades made a mistake with some sort of mentalgymnast "jubilee". Then finally, at the end of the second paragraph she finally mentions Grindael, one time. But in the third paragraph she's back mentioning me, cultellus and Shades.

Don't you realize that's how a tribute is done around here? 🤯

And by the way, so I'm not derailing the thread, I really do wish I could've talked to Grindael.

Hello folks,

As many of you know, I like to study and write about Mormon History. But I also have another interest, and that is Science Fiction/Fantasy. To make a long story short, I began creating my own fantasy world in the late 1980's. I drew maps, and worked out all the history of this world. I began writing a series of novels about it. I had three rough manuscripts completed, when my life took a wrong turn. Needless to say, all of that material got lost. Twenty years of work. The only thing that survived was a briefcase with some materials in it, some maps, some outlines, a few scattered chapters, etc. I was devastated for a long time. I couldn't go back and recreate it all. I couldn't remember whole portions of it. So, what I decided to do was to start a new series of novels from a different part of my world. The prequels to the Star Wars movies of the seventies and eighties so to speak. But I'm kind of nervous about it, and thought that I'd ask some of you here to give me an opinion as to if I should continue to pursue this, or just let it go. So, I'd like to present a few chapters of one of the novels that I've been creating from this world, (this would be the second) in "The Promise of Azoth" series, titled "Shadow of the Dragon". First though, is a Prologue.

Let me know what you think, if this kind of thing interests you... As a side note, this is where I took my online moniker "grindael" from. Grindael is a dragon ....

The trolls here to only to troll the board. This has happened before, most recently with the end result being that we did not hear from our friend Grindael during the last year of his life, which was our loss, entirely.

There are ways to maintain free speech without letting trolls destroy a community, but without moderator assistance, in my opinion all we can do is ignore the trolls, and hope that the lack of action doesn’t result in another friend of ours spending the last year of his life elsewhere instead of within our community.
Poppycock.

By the way, The only reason I entered this thread was because you brought me into it.

Still no PM response from Mr. Wang Chung.

Yeah, I was brought along into the so called “tribute” in Lemming’s first post in the thread. That started things off nicely. 😉

Amen! The guy was about as dogged a digger for information as any I've known. He threw himself full force into finding new sources, and he was damn good at it!
