Re: Six Days in August D.O.A.?
After a run of 53 days the theatrical run of 'Six Days In August' appears to be over. It delivered a box office take of $387,659 (earning Interpreter less than $200,000 despite production costs of well over $2,000,000). 'Witnesses' ran in theatres for 91 days, delivering a box office take of $855,765.
'Six Days In August' has been a financial disaster. In terms of numbers of people seeing the film, it has been a disaster.

I wonder if this is why Dan has been late posting Interpreter’s financials.

He publicly pledged on more than one occasion to produce a fully transparent account of the 'Witnesses' project. Until it bombed. He's produced nothing.

It will also play in priesthood meetings churchwide. That would lift everyone's spirit and get the Holy Ghost to activate testimonies.Tom wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 5:26 pmIt’s playing for at least a few more days in Kaysville.I Have Questions wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 2:40 pmAfter a run of 53 days the theatrical run of 'Six Days In August' appears to be over. I have no information on how the film is doing in Kaysville. The theater doesn’t seem to report ticket sales. Will it play another week?

Re: Six Days in August D.O.A.?
I’m delighted to report that Six Days, praised by one critic as “a major step forward for Mormon movie-making,” is rolling on in a single theater. Those who wish to celebrate Smithmas with a movie and movie popcorn may wish to head to the Kaysville Theatre in downtown Kaysville, Utah, on Monday night. Tickets are only $1.
In other Mormon movie news, Heretic has grossed nearly $44 million against a budget of $10 million. Hugh Grant, one of the film’s leads, has received nominations for the Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy and the Critics Choice Award for Best Actor in the film category. Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, who wrote and directed Heretic, have received a nomination for the Independent Spirit Awards award for Best Screenplay.

The real question is, will Heretic win a Telly award?Tom wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2024 4:09 amI’m pleased to report that Six Days, praised by one critic as “a major step forward for Mormon movie-making,” is rolling on in a single theater.
