That just isn't correct, Bob, and you know it. We've been over this before, in fact. Ad hominem arguments involve shifting the discussion to the rhetor's character and away from the argument. So, whenever you halt the discussion at hand in order to say, "Well, you're anonymous and a coward," you are engaging in ad hominem attack, since your are diverting the discussion off onto character, rather than dealing with the argument at hand. You ought to have figured this out by now.

In other words, Dr. Peterson didn't just pull down a review from the internet. Dr. Peterson has reason to believe that the reviewer knows what he's talking about.
My purpose in bringing this information here, was not to discuss Dr. Peterson's response or lack thereof. I don't have a problem with that. It just seemed to be such on over reaction on the part of the moderators. I don't see how dialogue can continue if you are disciplined for asking whether or not someone has read a book.
What ever gave you the idea that MAD board was about dialogue?
Well, as we all know, if something is in the name of the organization than the organization must be focused on that.
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
Moron Apologetics and Discussion. Now this one is a bit of a stretch because it isn't quite dialogue, but discussion can be used as a synonym of dialogue.

I tried to address that as well. I think the mods simply misinterpreted intent. It didn't help that The Dude called the review preaching to the choir. Again, the tone would likely have seemed better to the mods had The Dude left off "Yes/No".
That's General Leo. He could be my friend if he weren't my enemy. eritis sicut dii I support NCMO

When people communicate with me, it's easy to tell the difference between when they're blowing smoke up my skirt and when they're sincere. That isn't a difficult task. I despise it when someone tries to blow smoke. It irritates me no end. Do they think I don't notice? Why do they do that? Because they think I need to be handled with kid gloves or maybe I don't value plain speaking? It's a ridiculous way to communicate.
The same goes for Daniel and the MAD mods. What kind of Mickeymouse communication is it, when adults have to bend the knee and go into contortions in order to ask a frickin' question? Why shouldn't The Dude just ask "Yes/No"? It's what he wanted to know! It's an easy question, not at all complicated, requiring very little thought to answer. Why the need to bend his knee and make himself into an imitation pretzel in order to find out the answer to a straightforward question? MAD is not the Board Room. What a humiliation. I'm glad I don't even read it. I can count on Mr Scratch to bring the best bits here, so I can see the continued stupidity that passes for conversation there, but really... there's a limit to the amount of knee-bending anyone should have to do in order to ask a frickin' question.

I do this not to circumvent a moderator decision. And, at the moment, I don't intend to carry it beyond this single post.
I do it only because the post was addressed to me personally and I feel it merits a response.
I beg and appreciate in advance the indulgence of the moderators on this matter. As far as I am concerned, they are welcome to close this thread immediately, with this being the only post in the thread.
Scotty sure seems to have bootlicking, brown nosing, ___kissing and begging down to a science, how pathetic. Maybe Scotty could give lessons or write a primer on how to demean yourself before the MADMod Gods?

I think they're about 2 weeks away from changing the name to "Mormon Ass-kissing & Groveling Board"

What is up with the begging and hyperdefensiveness on the part of Scott Lloyd? It's a FREAKING MESSAGE BOARD. Is he asking them to donate a kidney or something?

He could just setting a good example for the rest of the sheep.
Honestly the MAD board is kinda like the movie Psycho right after the shower scene. You honestly don't know where in the hell it's going or who could get axed next.

It's starting to give the appearance of an alternate reality. You know...delusional.

I imagine the troops around Caligula seemed the same way, but they simply wished to survive.
