It behooves us all to understand that we post at the owner's pleasure here too. And all posters are valued here, not just a select few. That none of us is expendable.

And I really want to point out that this board's owner is one heckuva better at living the gospel than the supposedly Mormon owners of the MAD board, even though this board's owner isn't Mormon.

I'm really glad I came here. I didn't even know about this place until Tal invited me to come over here (he's been scarce lately). I can honestly say I like everyone here, and I've been treated respectfully across the board. Thank you for that.

I know that, but it still bugs me. I had been there a very long time and had never been threatened with banning. I can only remember one or two warnings over 4 years. It's not like I was some drive-by bomb thrower.

Oh, well, to quote President Hinckley, "It's in the past." I'll get over it.

Well, of course, there can be a write in campaign to get you back. I think at times mistakes are made since no one is perfect. What was your handle over there? I think it was Not quite me.... right?

I don't think any mistakes were made. I think they watch this board closely. I'm pretty sure I know why I was banned. I said something here and the next day I was off their board. No warnings. They watch here very closely.

Yes, I think that's probably why I'm not there as well. I said that I had noticed a sharp change in the atmosphere over there. Within a week, I was banned.

I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that you had previously posted under a different user name at FAIR, and that you had been banned from FAIR because interactiond post-dating your departure from the faith and the harsh things you had to say about FAIR while participating actively at RFM? I was surpirsed to learn that you were more recently posting at MA&D under a different screen name, and thought that you might have created a sock-puppet to get around the previous banning.

Am I wrong about your previous banning? And, if so, why did you re-register under a different screen name? And, why didn't you use "Runtu" the second go-around?

Thanks, -Wade Englund-

I decided back in early 2006 that I was not being as civil as I should be, so I asked to be banned from FAIR. When I came back last October or so, I used a different name, not because I was getting around the banning but because I didn't know how to tell the mods I wanted to be unbanned (they had told me I was welcome to come back). When I came back as Not Quite Me, I made no pretense of being anyone but me, and in fact one of the mods poked fun at me for coming back after asking to be banned, so obviously if it was a ruse, it didn't work too well. I don't know, I said a lot of things back then out of anger and hurt, so I may well have said things I shouldn't have about FAIR; I honestly don't remember. When I went back to FAIR, it didn't occur to me to use "Runtu" there (I had never posted as Runtu except on RfM).

Part of the reason for my suspicion was that here you often closed your posts using your real first name, and when I began interacting with Not Quite Me at MA&D, there wasn't the same closing, and when I started to see a striking similarity between NQM and what I was familiar with in posting styles from Runtu here, and mentioned this to NQM on MA&D, you never didn't acknowledgement that inference. And, since you didn't, I figured you had your reasons for not wanting the connection to be made, so I didn't spilling the beans so to speak (or so I thought). But, it turns out that, in good faith, I have jumped to at least some false conclusions. So, I appreciate you clearing up my confusion.

I'm pretty sure I signed off with my first name on MADB at least a few times, and I recall that you and several other people made the obvious connection between NQM and Runtu. I'm not sure why I didn't acknowledge it, though I suspect I figured I didn't need to. I honestly never intended to keep that a secret, though I suspect some people won't believe that. If nothing else, when Runtu and NQM started identical threads here and there responding to a John Clark FARMS article a couple of months ago, that effectively "spilled the beans."
