Oh sweet! I made it as your sig line! HAHAHAH! The fact you added the WTF says a lot. Thank you so much. I feel not only loved, but now well published to boot!

Do you realize you are a buffoon in both the world at large AND Mormonism?

We've got a live one here folks.
And crawling on the planet's face
Some insects called the human race
Lost in time
And lost in space...and meaning

Sorry, I missed the email on that one, but I can tell by how well you "discuss" things in here that as long as I keep a keen eye on what you say and how well you say it, I am sure I will improve vastly. Thanks for your support and all, and again, thanks for the publicity. It really says a lot... :)

Thanks. Feel more at home here than there, even though I am one of the few Mormons on this board, or so it feels. Are there more ex-mormons here than Mormons?

I would wager there are more ex-mos on the board. And that might be because of the cold welcome some LDS get. Which I think is unfortunate. I always hold out hope that more active LDS will join this board. I'm sure most everyone feels the same way. Otherwise there's really not much discussion and there's more of one sided rant.

But I could be wrong. I usually am. :P

Cold welcome? I wouldn't know anything about that. I can say that the way I have seen ex-mos and non-mos treated on MAD, no wonder there are other boards like this whereby the discussion is more open. I just hope this board is more like an open discussion than a flame board. Online flaming can be entertaining, but pointless and a waste of time, honestly. I enjoy good discussion and debate.

Well I'm glad you felt that you didn't get a cold welcome.

Enjoy your stay! :)

I am interested in having experiences like yours for spiritual purposes. I don't, however, know how to go about finding an appropriate place to have these experiences.

I have researched online and discovered several retreats in South America which offer the Ayahuasca brew in a shamanic setting, but I haven't done that yet. And I would rather safely experiment here in the states but there is some risk.

For those of us who would like to pursue these experiences, maybe you could provide some suggestions.

Thanks.

More important than the place is (especially the first few times you do it) is a spirit guide - someone you trust who can be your anchor to reality. As you do these more often, then there becomes a point where you don't need a person to be a spirit guide, but it is still a good idea to have a reality anchor. The spirit guide (your first time) should remain sober (ie, not tripping), and should be someone who supports your desire and reasons for doing this (so you don't have a "bad trip" because you feel guilty).

Aside from this, to select a place, I honestly select nature, camping. Even better, if you are familiar with anyone who goes to gatherings (not a rainbow gathering, but a "pagan" gathering), I would go there. There is a ton of raw spiritual energy at night there. My wife and I used to go to them. Imagine a bon fire with flames 3 stories tall. Just to dance around the fire took about 5 minutes. Two separate drum circles were happening on opposite sides of the fire just because you couldn't hear the one from the other. All this raw spirituality really helps to add to the whole experience.

Otherwise, maybe go camping?

Thanks Nephi. I did meet-up with a local witch once. She gave off weird vibes so I never went back, but I do like the camping idea. Of course, the other consideration is the acquisition of the appropriate entheogen. I once smoked some Salvia Divinorum by myself and I started to experience some interesting sensations but I shut the whole thing down because I started to get spooked. I was alone and I had never smoked anything (because I was a good Mormon) before, much less an entheogen. I have a friend who has expressed a willingness to have this experience with me, so I'll have to set up some kind of camping trip.

Then I will return and report.
