Even though Bishop Crockett has eschewed the safer practice of using an anonymous moniker, I hope there is no lasting harm to him or the young Crocketts. There are indeed some dangerous folks on the Internet. I have worried before about the dangerously true believers of any stripe, inflicting their version of retribution against those with whom they disagree.

Amen to that. The OP really creeped me out when I saw it this afternoon. For once, crock was right: whoever posted this anonymously was incredibly cowardly and should publicly apologize.

Nope. ain't gon' happen.
Sadly enough, even if people are SPECTACULARLY stupid, I refuse to ban anyone. We give the freedom to f***-up amazingly on this board. I will do what is necessary to keep people safe, but a lot of that responsibility falls on the users themselves.
I also keep very detailed logs of posts and IP addresses, and will help anyone claim legal restitution, if they seek it. But I will not ban anyone.
Just remember this, people: YOU are responsible for the information you provide. If you're not willing to accept the consequenses, then don't make the post. And on this board, consequenses are real, not virtual.

Hmmm. I suspect that this poster was either a sockpuppet from one of our regulars, or was someone trying to stir up trouble. Either way, I think that person forfeited their anonymity.

Funny thing is that they both have something in common, besides their pretend clergy office of bishop.
FYI rCROCKet, your behavior on this board has been, at times, not very "christlike", nnn'k bishie?
Unbelievers forfeit the right to use another's Christianity against them.
He is a Mormon bishop and is EXPECTED to exhibit behaviors that are deemed "christlike". I have not seen many from him on this board.
He is the one under the rules, not I.
Do you recognize LDS moral law as superior to that which you live?

I recall that Bob revealed that he was a bishop some time ago (it may have been when he briefly used a moniker with "Bishop" in it), so that's no big revelation today. And all the other personal stuff about Bob and his family have no place here.
