I believe that MAD will return to the action but it may take a while. As I have said: how many times can one defend Mormonism from the same criticisms?

I asked a pretty inocuous question: If you could ask Joseph Smith one question, what would it be? That thread resulted in Bond's being warned (or was it banned?) and the thread being shut down for being inflammatory. Sigh. I really don't know what you're supposed to do when you can't ask an innocent question without being called inflammatory.
I didn't even know that post got deleted. I responded to Runtu's question:
I won't tell you my answer, but I'll tell you Joseph's response. He said:
"I did not have sexual relations with that woman...Ms. Lewinsky"
That might have been the reason I got axed. Who Knows?
"Whatever appears to be against the Book of Mormon is going to be overturned at some time in the future. So we can be pretty open minded."-charity 3/7/07

I too think that MAD has slowed down a bit lately. I used to be able to find all sorts of fun speculative posts about the mind/spirit and the afterlife, evolution vs intelligent design, and even general silliness with Zakuska, and MorningStar.
I also feel bummed that lately my MAD topics don't tend to get much participation. Then again, my non-answered prayers one had decent participation.
That's General Leo. He could be my friend if he weren't my enemy. eritis sicut dii I support NCMO

If they're tired of defending it from the same criticisms, maybe they could stop worrying about Bible vs. Book of Mormon threads and defend, say, the Book of Abraham. There's a knockout punch that they pretend never happened!
why me wrote:I haven't seen the knockout punch yet. Even Uncle Dale hasn't provided the knockout punch. No, the apologists are doing quite well. Can one prove Mormonism? Never. To prove Mormonism true is to prove that god exists. And such is not the way of god. Faith, my friend, is what religion depends on.
I suspect that the knockout punch is in the eye of the beholder. As long as you're determined not to see any evidence as anything other than speculation, you are unlikely to ever see a knockout punch, no matter how solid the evidence.
most people that get hit by a knockout punch never see it and don't know that they are out until they wake up.

Arg! Tarski's gone? He was one of my favorite posters there. He as a laser-like way of focusing in on problems with LDS beliefs and science topics. His insights were, IMHO, some of the most important on the board.
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen
