No, I don't know him. My initial gut feeling when I read the thread over there was, "He really shouldn't be talking about that if it happened."Ten Bear wrote:No, I thought that was rather abrupt.The Nehor wrote:Why are you slowly backing away?

Seriously, I wasn't sure what you were trying to say. I don't believe you're gut (as it were) doesn't tell you anything. I just think you're being nice to the guy as if he were here .... or you know him. Do you know him?

Have you read the Course in Miracles? Conversations with God? The Abraham material? Paul's writings? (For a few examples).
There are plenty of folks who believe they have communed with the Divine and have answers from Source to help humankind.
Why not share one's awarness, knowledge, and insights with the world?
Others do and I'm guessing they have helped millions of people!
I really do not understand this LDS mindset ....

Actually, I kind of see your point. Weirder things have happened to me (not on a spiritual or religious level). But still, ... my gut feeling says he's not all there and Joseph Smith hasn't appeared to anybody. And I can live with that.

I just want to know if he was holding a flaming sword.Sorry I really didn't mean to just blurt something this sacred to me out like 'stuff' you know. But I hate it when others think they had what I have and then just threw it away. I could never do that, coming from where I am.
And yes I have.
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

Or if he was holding his own flaming sword. Joseph Smith that is. Not Hammer. I'm so not going there...beastie wrote:I just want to know if he was holding a flaming sword.Sorry I really didn't mean to just blurt something this sacred to me out like 'stuff' you know. 35 Marvel not that I said unto you: Here is wisdom, show it not unto the world—for I said, show it not unto the world, that you may be preserved.
36 Behold, I do not say that you shall not show it unto the righteous;
37 But as you cannot always judge the righteous, or as you cannot always tell the wicked from the righteous, therefore I say unto you, hold your peace until I shall see fit to make all things known unto the world concerning the matter.
Sometimes these things should be shared but they should be shared to aid and edify others, not to prove points or to defend yourself. . . though I have slipped before as well.

Why? Couldn't Joseph go knock on President Hinckley's door?Abinadi's Fire wrote:Why not?The Nehor wrote:No, I don't know him. My initial gut feeling when I read the thread over there was, "He really shouldn't be talking about that if it happened."
Heck, if that happened to me I'd be knocking on President Hinckley's door to let him know what Joseph said.
