Hi Flemming, welcome to Mormon Discussions. As you may have noticed, we have three “Kingdoms” for threads about Mormonism, and three for threads about topics other than Mormonism. The rules are different for each level of kingdom.

Only in Celestial and SSP do we require folks to stay strictly on topic. In Terrestial/Paradise, we have an anti-derail rule, which is not as strict for rules in the higher kingdoms. In Terrestial/Paradise, by custom and based on the sayings of our founder, Dr. Shades, discussions of a posters’ intent or motive are not “derails,” except when directed at the person who started the thread. We extend that to comments on the topic of whether an account is a “sockpuppet” of an existing or banned account. Although these types of comments certainly interrupt the substantive discussion taking place in a thread and can be off putting to a new user, they are permitted in the Terrestial “kingdom.” On that basis, I must decline your request to split Doc’s comments into a new thread.

The system here takes some getting used to. But if you’re interested in a place where you can express yourself with fairly minimal constraints, this place works pretty well for that.

If you think that someone is in violation of the rules, the best way to get the mod team’s attention is to use the report button (the one with the exclamation). That helps us go out job with minimal disruption to the flow of conversation. If you have a question, you are always welcome to shoot a PM to anyone on the mod team.
